2022 NBA Guide: Who Are The Favorites?

2022 NBA Guide: Who Are The Favorites?

October 12, 2021

The Milwaukee Bucks had their first title win in 50 years, all because of Giannis Antetokounmpo. With Antetokounmpo still on the team, they hope to create the same victory in the 2021 - 2022 season too! The NBA betting lines are not in their favor, and the Brooklyn Nets and LA Lakers are preparing to take their crown back, but all is still to play for at the moment!

Front Line Favorites

Brooklyn Nets

At the moment, the Brooklyn Nets are the favorites to win. With Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden on the team, they have the stamina, skill, and team quality to take the championship home.

All three stars will be without a team next season, as they are all free agents. This means they will be playing for Brooklyn and playing for themselves to get more people to support them.

Los Angeles Lakers

In July, the Lakers made a deal that rocketed them up the rankings. Russell Westbrook was added to their team with an average of 22 points per game to add to the Laker’s stats. This has made LA a team filled with stars, so taking down the competition shouldn’t be hard!

Golden State Warriors

Although Stephen Curry has left the team at the respectable age of 31, the Golden state will not be without a star to pull them through.

Klay Thompson should be back in the game after recovering from an Achilles injury. We can suspect that he won’t be used as often as we’d all like, but his addition to the sport has brought the whole team up the rankings.

James Wiseman is in his second year with Golden State, and his talent grows with every game he plays. With two fine basketball players on their team, the Warriors should bring us a good fight!

Milwaukee Bucks

After such an amazing season last year, the Bucks cannot be ignored this time around. Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday, and Khris Middleton are the core of the team, and they will run rings around their competitors if given the chance. This year, Donte DiVincenzo will be back on the ball, too, as his foot injury has healed!

Strong Contenders

Phoenix Suns

With Chris Paul back on the team, the Phoenix Suns are back in the running for high-class basketball. Alongside the two Camerons (Johnson and Payne), the team as a whole has a statistically higher advantage than they have in seasons come and gone. This new lineup is still untested, so you might see this team move up the rankings as the team progresses.

Utah Jazz

In their best record in history, Utah Jazz still couldn’t bag the win when the time came, but this time around, they expect to do more. Their motivation is palpable, as though they have a hidden trick up their sleeve. With such energy and promise, we cannot wait to see how they do and if they manage to change the rankings as they plan.

Philadelphia 76ers

Last season Doc River’s entry gave all of Philadelphia the cheer and promise of an NBA win, but as the semi-final was snatched from them, River’s heartbreak was all we could see. Where once they had promise, now they have uncertainty.

Word around the court is that the 76ers are hoping to get Ben Simmons back. They need the legend to get them back to their rightful place, but Simmons has stated, time and time again, that he would never wear the Philadelphia uniform again.

Longshots

Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard is the person who holds the Clipper’s future. His ACL injury means that he could miss some or even all of the season, and if that happens, then the Clippers will lose their only shot of winning the NBA. The club owner, Steve Ballmer, has suggested that Leonard could return for the season, but it doesn’t seem certain, and time is running out.

Miami Heat

Before the season started, Miami Heat had one of the lowest ratings for the games, but as a couple of games have been played, they have already begun to close in on their numbers. All these changes seem to come from point guard Kyle Lowry. The bookies are seeing his unique game style and need to change their tactics just in case.

Atlanta Hawks

One of the biggest surprises in the playoffs came from Trae Young. His momentum, power, and gameplay seemed to come out of nowhere! We were not the only ones to notice the change, as he now has a 5 year multi-million deal with ATL. This might be the change they need to take home the title!
