November 16, 2019 - Round 7

In the ABA League Round 7 opener, Igokea will be hosting Buducnost VOLI at home in Laktasi Sports Hall. It has never been boring when Igokea and Buducnost VOLI have met in the past in Laktasi and it is not expected to be any different this time around, as the two sides will be opening the Round 7 of the ABA League season. November 12, 2019 - Round 6 MVP: Billy Baron, Crvena zvezda mts

billy baronWe have the MVP of the 6th round of the season and it is Crvena zvezda mts swingman Billy Baron. Baron dominated the court in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall in the game of his team against Igokea. At the match of the 6th round between Crvena zvezda mts and Igokea, Billy Baron achieved 19 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists and a valuation of 27 in 29 minutes spent on court. He had the highest valuation of the round in the ABA League. However, the fact that Baron did not use his quality just to rise to the top of the statistical categories, but also helped his team to beat Igokea, is what earned him the MVP of the round honour. A big game is coming up as the 6th round opener in Belgrade, as FMP will be hosting Mornar of Bar in a battle of the teams from the upper half of the standings. FMP have suffered their first defeat last round in the city clash against Partizan NIS, but despite that, they are still sharing the top of the standings after five rounds. On the other side, Mornar have bounced back after tough loss on the road to Koper a round before, with a home win against Cedevita Olimpija. Read more here.

November 4, 2019 - Round 5 MVP: Rashawn Thomas, Partizan NIS

rashawn thomasWe have the MVP of the 5th round of the season and it is Partizan NIS big man Rashawn Thomas. Thomas dominated the court in Aleksandar Nikolić Hall in the game of his team against FMP. At the match of the 5th round between Partizan NIS and FMP, Rashawn Thomas achieved 23 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a valuation of 31 in 28 minutes spent on court. He had the highest valuation of the round in the ABA League. However, the fact that Thomas did not use his quality just to rise to the top of the statistical categories, but also helped his team to beat FMP, is what earned him the MVP of the round honour. The other players that marked the Round 5 with their individual performances were the top scorer Bryon Allen of Zadar (24 points), top rebounder Akos Keller of Zadar (11 rebounds), top passers Zan Mark Sisko of Koper Primorska and Stefan Pot of FMP (12 assists each) and top ball thief Rade Zagorac of Partizan NIS (5 steals). In the opening game of the ABA League Round 5, Krka will be facing Koper Primorska at home in Leon Stukelj Sports Hall. The two sides will meet for the first time in the ABA League. When they faced in the maiden ABA League 2 Final, in Cacak, a year and a half ago, Krka were the ones that got away victoriously and they have won the promotion to the ABA League immediately. At the match of the 4th round between Koper Primorska and Mornar, Lance Christopher Harris achieved 22 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and a valuation of 31 in 29 minutes spent on court. He had the highest valuation of the round in the ABA League and the highest single game valuation in the ABA League this season. However, the fact that Harris did not use his quality just to rise to the top of the statistical categories, but also helped his team to beat Mornar, is what earned him the MVP of the round honour. October 25, 2019 - Round 4

Big game is coming to Stozice Arena, as Steamroller visits Ljubljana to challenge the undefeated Dragons. Two 2019 ABA Super Cup finalists will meet again, this time in different circumstances. It’s Partizan NIS against Cedevita Olimpija. When the two sides met for the first time this season, it was Partizan NIS that prevailed convincingly over Cedevita Olimpija, in the ABA Super Cup final in Zagreb. However, since then Cedevita Olimpija have strengthened their ranks with Maik Zirbes and have demonstrated a stable shape in the ABA League, beating all three of their rivals so far in the regular season, which puts them atop of the standings alone, with FMP of Belgrade. In the opening game of the Saturday’s ABA League programme, Mornar will be hosting Partizan NIS at home in Topolica Sports Hall in Bar. Perhaps not many have expected this kind of a situation in the standings after two rounds played in the ABA League, but Mornar, that will be hosting Partizan NIS at home in Topolica Sports Hall in Round 3, are currently still perfect after two rounds, with two victories on their record, and their Belgrade rivals are on a 1-1 score after two rounds in the middle of the standings. At the match of the 2nd round between Mornar and Igokea, Derek Needham achieved 22 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals and a valuation of 34 in less than 33 minutes spent on court. He had the highest valuation of the round in the ABA League. However, the fact that Needham did not use his quality just to rise to the top of the statistical categories, but also helped his team to beat Igokea, is what earned him the MVP of the round honour. The basketball fans in the region will have an unique chance to watch and enjoy the clash of two extremely talented squads of Belgrade in the Round 2 opener – FMP will be hosting Mega Bemax. Even though both teams are young and merely inexperienced, they do not lack ambition due to their extremely talented individuals, many of which might become future basketball stars.
