In
today´s column we will learn about coordination ladder, or as i call it
– agility ladder. It is one of the props suitable for improvement of
foot work and speed. The prop is 20 squares long and 3 squares wide.
This agility ladder is the right choice for you if you want to practice
some specific motions where players would have to be especially
concentrated on execution of exercises. My team usually uses it at
warm-up. Despite that we still have to persist on accurate and right
execution of movement or exercises.
With suitable exercises we can influence:
Better leg coordination (precision, rhythm, agility),
* Better posture,
* Better stability,
* Better ankle stability,
* Leg speed (motion frequency),
* Correct technique of feet positioning at running),
* Speed of the change of direction.
Coaches frequently demand different moves during the game which are
connected with various (usually demanding) jumps and steps in so called
tricks. i use these exercises mostly as a prevention from injuries. As
you can see in pictures and videos, the exercises are very simple and
are not a irreconcilable obstacle even for those with weaker
coordination.
