September 2, 2010 - Red Foxes banned from dancing during Turkey NT games!
FIBA's
dance team has been benched during Turkey's games. The Red Foxes have
been told to stop performing in games involving the host country
because their risque costumes and routines are offensive to the nation
that is nearly entirely Muslim. Read more here.
September 1, 2010 - 2010-11 Preseason: Games and Results
Even
as some of their biggest stars continue to pursue medals at the 2010
World Championships in Turkey, most of the teams in the 2010-11 Turkish
Airlines Euroleague have begun training for the regular season in camps
all across the continent. The fitness work of running up mountains,
lifting weights and sprinting across fields started for some of those

September 1, 2010 - Euroleague Basketball mourns Molten president
Euroleague
Basketball joins the world sports community in expressing condolences
at the passing of Mr. Fumiya Tamiaki, President of Molten Corporation.
Mr. Tamiaki died recently at age 72 in Hiroshima, Japan. He was the
pillar of his company's support for our sport, which included supplying
the official basketball during several years for the Euroleague, as

keeps building its roster for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Basketball season by inking power forward Damir Markota to a one-year
deal, the club announced Wednesday. Markota (210, 24) arrives from
Bizkaia Bilbao Basket, where he averaged 4.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in

August 31, 2010 - MACCABI brings Eliyahu home for 5 years

Tel Aviv announced Tuesday that favorite son Lior Eliyahu is returning
to wear blue and yellow for the next five seasons. Eliyahu (206, 25)
arrives from Caja Laboral, with whom he won the Spanish League last

August 31, 2010 - Hapoel completes roster with Williams

Jerusalem completed its roster for the upcoming season by inking big
man Sean Williams to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday.
Williams (208, 24) is set to make his European basketball debut with
Hapoel, as he spent his career in the United States, China and Puerto
Rico before agreeing to a deal with the Israeli powerhouse. Read more here.
August 29, 2010 - MACCABI ELECTRA keeps Doron Perkins
Maccabi Electra
Tel Aviv and playmaker Doron Perkins reached a new agreement to stay
together next season, the club announced Sunday. Maccabi keeps an
option to extend the deal until the end of the 2011-12 season. Perkins
(189, 27) arrived to Maccabi last season, in which he averaged 9.2
points, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 20 Euroleague games last season,

August 29, 2010 - Budivelnik inks Billy Keys, Andy Betts
Budivelnik
got stronger for its upcoming debut in the Euroleague Qualifying Round
by inking playmaker Billy Keys and center Andy Betts to respective
one-year deals. Keys (188, 32) arrives from Maroussi, that faces
Budivelnik in the first qualifying round on September 21-24. He
averaged 9.9 points and 2.6 assists in 16 Euroleague games last season,
helping Maroussi to go all the way from the Qualifying Round to the Top

August 29, 2010 - VIRTUS ROMA gets former scoring champ Smith
Virtus Roma
brought some serious scoring punch to its backcourt by signing veteran
swingman Charles Smith for the coming season. Smith (193, 35) arrives
from Turkish side Efes Pilsen, where he has spent the past two seasons.
He was the first winner of Euroleague Basketball's Alphonso Ford Top
Scorer Trophy in 2005, when he averaged 20.6 points per game for

August 27, 2010 - UNION OLIMPIJA adds Sasu Salin

kept getting ready for the upcoming Euroleague season by inking top
prospect Sasu Salin to a three-year deal, the club announced Friday.
Salin (190, 19) arrives from Honka Espoo Playboys, where he averaged
9.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 48 Finnish League games last season.

August 27, 2010 - ZALGIRIS & playmaker Collins reunite
Zalgiris Kaunas
and former Euroleague assists king DeJuan Collins are together again
after the club announced a one-year deal on Thursday. Collins (188, 33)
led the Euroleague in assists with 5.3 per game during the 2007-08
season. He spent a season-and-a-half with Zalgiris, arriving in January
2007 and helping the team win back-to-back Lithuanian League and Cup

August 26, 2010 - Aris BSA tabs Tucker at forward
Aris BSA 2003 and
forward P.J. Tucker put pen to paper on a two-year deal Thursday, 24
hours after the club publicly announced the agreement between them.
Tucker (198, 25) arrives from Israeli club Bnei Hasharon, where he
averaged 17.3 points and 9 rebounds over 12 games after joining the
