  Chester Mason Interview

chester masonWoB: Mr. Mason, we would like to congratulate for Regular season MVP title in NLB League. How do you feel?

Chester Mason: Being named the mvp award of the NLB league (one of the top 3 leagues in Europe) is a great honor. I feel so happy to receive this award. First I want to thank my teamates, coaches, and the rest of the staff at Siroki HT Eronet. Without them I wouldnt been able to win this award.
WoB: Are you satisfied with your perfomance during this season in NLB League?

Chester Mason: I am very satisfied with they way I performed in the NLB league this season on the court and off the court. I showed my leadership throughout this season and I feel that every game I gave 110% on the court. One of my goals for this season was to give my all every game no matter what, and I feel that I acomplish that. Another goal of mine was to be the best rebounding playmaker in the whole Europe, and I feel that I acomplish that goal. I finish leading that NLB in rebounding with 8.08 per game.
WoB: Your team (Siroki HT Eronet didn't qualify for Final Four of NLB League, what's your plans now?

Chester Mason: My team didnt qualify for the final four in the NLB this season. And this was a goal that I had set before the season. But with the changing of 2 coaches and 3 players getting injured and being out for the season it was kinda hard. We acheived 11 wins this season which is ok in this league because the league is so tough. So, all in all I feel that me and my teamates did a really good job this season in the NLB. Now our goal is to win our national championship, in which we won last season. Its going to be hard but we can do it, and I think that everyone of us is really focus on winning the title again.

WoB: Can you please in few words say something about NLB League, competition, opponent teams, quality level, etc...?

Chester Mason: The nlb league is a top 3 league in europe. The young talant that comes out this league end up playing in the NBA, Spain ACB, or top euroleague teams. in the NLB there are 3 euroleague teams. Cibona, Partizan, Olimpija. Partizan is in the final eight of euroleague and Cibona finish in the top 16. 3 euro cup teams, Hemofarm, Zadar, and Crvena Zvezda they finish top 16. and 4 eurochallenge teams, Cedevita, Zagreb (top 8), Buducnost, Fmp (top8). This is a great league to play in.
WoB: In few words, how do you feel living in Bosnia, we believe that there are so many differences between living in States and in Bosnia?

Chester Mason: living here in Bosnia is ok for me. The people treat me good here. The weather is fairly ok. Its small compared to the States and the way of living is kinda different. But all in all its ok for me here. The biggest problem for me is the langue differences. I cant speak their langue here at all, and most people here do not speak english.
WoB: Mr. Mason, we would like to thank you for this interview, if there is anything more to say, you are very welcome?

Chester Mason: I want to thank World of Basketball web site for having me as a guest, and hopefully I can come back and do another interveiw here. Thank you again.
