Dealing with dribbling and handling the ball part 2

By Dejan Rodic http://www.dejanrodic.com

Considering that we have reached the end of the season we wrote in our previous column that it is the right time for shot correction and getting rid of dribbling mistakes. Today we are going to show one of the methods where we can achieve our goal with the help of the additional props.

In pictures 1 and 2 we can see a special glasses which enables us to teach the players at dribbling of better ball management. This glasses lower the peripheral eyesight and, as many coaches wish, the player is looking straight toward his or her goal.

Without this glasses the players often look down and in this way cheat. With this glasses the player does not see anything and he is forced to try to literaly feel the ball. During the matches these types of situations are unnoticeable because we are not dealing with this phenomenon. But nevertheless, it often happens that we are hindered during the dribbling and this glasses enables the simulation of this.

In pictures 3 and 4 we can see from the close up that the glasses do not have any glass; they are plastic and entirely harmless and do not threaten the player´s health. As you can see in the video we have to demand the look forward (toward the basket); with various exercise the improvement of dribbling can begin.

Today we are presenting dribbling the ball close to the body with the left and the right hand, dribbling the ball forward and backward close to the body and dribbling the ball with the left and the right hand in front of the body. In the next publication we are going to show some more demanding exercise with our props.
