Four
teams on the rise help make Group K an exciting one to watch. Three
teams with glorious pasts and another that has slowly been growing into
a regular Eurocup contender make up a wide-open group where any of the
four teams could wind up on top or at the bottom. Galatasaray Café

January 11, 2011 - Last 16 breakdown: Group J
|
|
|
Last
16 Group J features a mix of new and old blood, all with equal chances
to rise up and fight for Eurocup glory. Two teams - BG Goettingen and
Budivelnik – are in the competition for the first time. The other two –
Aris and Le Mans – are not far removed from playing in the Euroleague.
Assuming Goettingen and Budivelnik are inexperienced would be a
mistake. Goettingen won the FIBA EuroChallenge last season and has many
of the same players back. Budivelnik has an experienced roster headed
by coach Josep Maria Berrocal, an assistant on Regal FC Barcelona’s
Euroleague-winning squad last year. Read more here.

year. Meanwhile Cedevita is in its first Eurocup campaign, but has
impressed so far. The teams boasts tremendous experience on the
sidelines, with Unics led by Evgeny Pashutin, who coached CSKA Moscow
to last season’s Euroleague Final Four. Cedevita coach Aca Petrovic is
a former Euroleague winner as a player and also coached in the
Euroleague, as has Gran Canaria boss Pedro Martinez. Read more here.
