The
regular season came to an end with Round 10. The 24 teams that will
continue in the Last 32 were known on Wednesday night and, when the
dust settled, the last weekly MVP for the regular season was Lukoil
Academic Sofia's Alando Tucker, who racked up an index raing of 43, the
most among all winning players this week. Tucker led Lukoil to a last
win over CSU Asesoft Ploiesti, 92-77, even though the team didn't have
any options to advance. In the game, Tucker scored 30 points - 11 of 14
two-pointers -, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 drawn fouls. Read more here.

Maccabi Haifa Bazan 70 - 75 Kalev Cramo Tallinn
Kalev Cramo Tallinn
left the 2013-14 Eurocup in style by downing Maccabi Haifa Bazan 70-75
in Israel on Wednesday. Kalev finished the regular season with a 3-7
record and registered its first Eurocup road win since the 2007-08
season. Haifa was second in Group G with a 6-4 record. It had sealed
its ticket to the Last 32 two weeks ago. Vlad Moldoveanu paced the
winners with 19 points. Frank Elegar added 14 and 12 rebounds while Ty

Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler 84 - 64 Alba Fehervar
Eurocup newcomer Aykon
TED Ankara assured itself a place the Last 32 when it blasted Alba
Fehervar at home 84-64 on Wednesday to finish Group F with a 6-4
record. Ankara would have to wait for results from the rest of the
group later Wednesday to know whether it finished second or third in
the group, but nonetheless owned tiebreak advantages against the team
it had been tied with, PAOK Thessaloniki, that meant a win was enough

MZT Skopje Aerodrom 62 - 88 Unics Kazan
Unics Kazan rounded a
perfect Eurocup regular season by downing MZT Skopje Aerodrom 62-88 in
Group G on the road on Wednesday. Unics was the only team to win all of
its 10 regular season games. It also became the first Eurocup team to
win its opening 10 games since Spartak St. Petersburg did it in the
2011-12 season. Skopje was sixth in group G with a 1-9 record. Andrew

Khimki Moscow Region 80 - 67 Igokea Aleksandrovac
After a couple lead changes and a few breathtaking
scoring runs, Khimki Moscow Region cape up on top against Igokea
Aleksandrovac on Wednesday night, 80-67. After the 10 games, Khimki
wins Group E with a 9-1 record while Igokea drops to 3-7 and says
goodbye to Eurocup competition. Sergey Monia and Marko Popovic led the
winners with 17 points apiece, combining for 8 of 13 threes. Kresimir

Paris Levallois
finished its Eurocup campaign on a winning note, using big second half
to beat Union Olimpija Ljubljana 80-63. Victory improved previously
eliminated Paris to 4-6 and into the fourth place in Group C, while
denying Olimpija a chance to clinch the first place in the group.
Olimpija can still finish first if last place Cimberio Varese (1-8)
beats Ratiopharm Ulm (7-2) on the road, but if Ulm wins, it will be

Cedevita Zagreb 75 - 71 Elan Chalon sur Saone
Cedevita Zagreb rallied
in the fourth quarter to edge Elan Chalon-sur-Saone 75-71, claiming a
spot in the Last 32. Win improved Cedevita to 6-4 in Group B, and it
will finish in the second place if Bilbao Basket (4-5) beats the
visiting EWE Baskets Oldenburg (5-4) on Wednesday, and it will be third
if Oldenburg wins. Nolan Smith had 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists
to pace Cedevita who used 16-2 run in the fourth quarter to go up

Lukoil Academic Sofia finished its Eurocup campaign
on a winning note, downing CSU Asesoft Ploiesti 92-77 on Tuesday. In a
clash of two teams with no chances to advance, Alando Tucker amassed 30
points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists for an performance index rating 43 to
lead Lukoil, as the Bulgarian champ finished the season with 4-6 record
in the fourth place of Group E. Meanwhile, CSU Asesoft exits the

The 2013-14 Eurocup Regular Season comes to an end
this week! The top three teams in each group will advance to the
competition's next phase, the Last 32, to be joined there by eight
eliminated teams from the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season.
There are six Last 32 spots up for grabs in Round 10, the last of the
regular season, and a lot of teams will fight for a better position,

Belfius
Mons-Hainaut has arrived to the party a bit late this season since it
won two of the last three games when the deal was mostly sealed in
Group D. However, thanks to the latest 91-90 home win over Telekom
Baskets Bonn this week, Jason Love can claim weekly MVP honors as his
index rating performance of 34 - the most among winning players this
week - lifted his team to its second win. Love scored 20 points
including 8 of 9 two-pointers, pulled 14 rebounds, dished 3 assists,
had 2 steals and drew 8 fouls for a complete performance in the game.

Alba Fehervar 82 - 80 Buducnost Voli Podgorica
In a clash of two
already-eliminated teams, Alba Fehervar used a late 12-3 run to down
the visiting Buducnost VOLI 82-80 on Wednesday. Both teams now hold 2-7
record in Group F, but Buducnost has the edge due to a 6-point victory
over Alba in Round 4. In a close game, Buducnost had the largest lead
of the night, 69-75 with little over 4 minutes to go. But Braydon
Hobbs, Ramone Moore and Anthony Olah rallied the hosts to their second

Banvit Bandirma 95 - 76 Maccabi Haifa Bazan
Banvit Bandirma
improved its chances to reach the Eurocup Last 32 in Group G by downing
Maccabi Haifa Bazan 95-76 at home on Wednesday. Banvit improved to 5-4
and will reach the Last 16 if it beats VEF Riga in the Latvian capital
next week, regardless of other scores. Banvit will be second if it wins
and Kalev Cramo Tallinn beats Haifa. It will third if it wins or loses

Spartak Saint Petersburg 77 - 88 Bisons Loimaa
Bisons Loimaa beat
Spartak St. Petersburg 77-88 on the road to temporarily extend its
season, but its Last 32 hopes came to an end later Wednesday when other
results in Group H did not go the Finnish champs’ way. Accordingly
Bisons, which sits in fourth place in the group with a 4-5 record, has
been mathematically eliminated from reaching the next stage. Spartak
dropped to 3-6 and is tied for fifth place. The game was close

Radnicki Kragujevac 91 - 81 Neptunas Klaipeda
History was made
Wednesday when Radnicki beat Neptunas 91-81 to reach the Eurocup Last
32 in its first season in the competition and Marko Marinovic tied the
Eurocup single game assists record with 15. Radnicki improved to 5-4
and guaranteed at least third place in Group H. Neptunas slipped to 3-6
and is tied for fifth place in the group. Radnicki led from start to
finish, boosting the difference into the 20s before Neptunas closed the

Kalev Cramo Tallinn
pleased its fans with a last Eurocup home win this season by downing
MZT Skopje Aerodrom 84-69 in Group G in the Estonian capital on
Wednesday. Both teams were out of the Last 32 race before this game.
Kalev improved to 2-7 and will be fifth in Group G at the end of the
regular season and Skopje dropped to 1-8 and will be sixth. Ty Abbott

A thrilling battle in
Russia ended up with a visiting winner as Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler
survived Nizhny Novgorod by 87-92 on Wednesday evening. Both teams
dominated in several times of the game and the guests came up with the
upper hand on the final buzzer. Both teams combined for as many as 28
three-pointers and Luke Babbitt had 8 for the hosts. The win lifts TED
Ankara to a 5-4 record in Group F with good options still to make the

Once again, there was only on team on the court on
Wednesday when Unics Kazan defeated VEF Riga at home by 98-51. The game
was already decided in the halftime break when the hosts dominated by
38-25 and then came back with an 11-1 in the third period. The win
leaves Unics unbeaten at the top of Group G with a 9-0 record. VEF
Riga, on the other hand, drops to 4-5 and will have a last chance in

pulled away in the second half, downing BCM Gravelines 72-83, and
clinching first place in Group D on Tuesday. Alba improved to 7-2, and
has beaten Gravelines, which drops to 6-3, in both head-to-head
clashes. The Berliners started pulling late in the third quarter. After
score being tied at 50-50, Vojdan Stojanovski scored 10 points during

Elan Chalon-sur-Saone
edged Bilbao Basket 81-79 in a thriller, keeping alive its chances of
advancing on Tuesday. This is the third win in the last four matches
for Chalon, while Bilbao suffered its fifth consecutive loss. Both
teams hold 4-5 record in the fourth place of Group B, however Bilbao
holds a tiebreaker due to a 10-point win in Round 4. Chalon took the
lead early, but it evaporated in the third quarter and Bilbao’s 2-14

place in Group F, while PAOK drops to 5-4. Khimik trailed 23-33 at
halftime, and game was tied late in the fourth quarter 51-51 before the

Wednesday night, Panionios Athens picked up a valuable road win that
could be worth a Last 32 spot. In its 78-86 victory over Neptunas
Klaipeda, the Greek club enjoyed the invaluable leadership of Marc
Carter, who shined with a performance index rating of 34, which proved
to be the highest among players on winning teams and earned him the
competition’s weekly MVP honor. Carter did everything on court for
Panionios: he scored 29 points (5 of 7 two-pointers, 5 of 6 threes, 4
of 5 free throws), pulled down 4 rebounds, dished 7 assists and drew 3
fouls. Next in line were two players tied with index ratings of 32
each: Jared Berggren of Telenet Ostend and Earl Rowland of Banvit

grinded out a huge 64-72 road win over Cedevita Zagreb on Wednesday.
Both teams now have 5-3 record in a share of the second place in Group
B, but EWE Baskets hold a tie-breaker for winning both head-to-head
games. The hosts led for the most part of the opening three quarters,
but never more than 45-39. However, four consecutive triples, including
two from Nemanja Aleksandrov, put the visitors up 56-65, and they never

A tough battle took
place on Wednesday afternoon in Khimki, Russia as Khimki Moscow Region
ended up surviving Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem by 85-73. The win lifts
Khimki in Group E to a 7-1 record while Hapoel drops to 4-4, but is
practically in the Last 32. Paul Davis led the winners with his 22
points and Petteri Koponen and Marko Popovic added 14 apiece. For

Gravelines improved to 6-2 in at least a share of the first place in

Belfius Mons dropped to 1-7 in the last place. Gravelines took the lead
for good half-way through the first quarter, before using a 2-17 run in

winning streak, while Paris drops to 2-6 and is all but mathematically
eliminated. Ulm opened a double-digit lead in the first quarter, but
Paris came within 31-29 early in the third. However, the hosts used an

start to finish, and beat the visiting Alba Berlin 75-50 on Wednesday
night. Win improves Zaragoza to 4-3 in a share of the third place in
Group D, while Alba drops to 5-2 but remains in a share of the first
place. Zaragoza grabbed control of the game from the start, taking 19-7
lead with Damjan Rudez nailing a pair of triples, and advantaged grew

Telenet Ostend got
closer to clinch a Last 32 spot in Group A by topping Artland Dragons
Quakenbrueck 87-71 at home on Wednesday. Ostend improved to 5-2 and
could qualify as close as next week if it beats FoxTown Cantu and CEZ
Basketball Nymburk downs Le Mans. Quakenbrueck dropped to 1-6 and is
all but mathematically out of chances to advance. Andrija Stipanovic

close to be eliminated. Kenan Bajramovic led the winners with 18 points
and 6 rebounds for an index rating of 26, Janis Berzins bagged 17

got back to its winning ways, rallying late to edge BCM Gravelines
80-77 on Wednesday. Win improves Bonn to 4-3 in at least a share of the
third place in Group D, while Gravelines drops to 5-2, but keeps
tiebreaking advantage over Bonn due to an 8-point win in Round 2. Game
was a close affair throughout 40 minutes, and Gravelines led 60-67 in
the fourth quarter before Benas Veikalas and Jared Jordan hit some big

Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem
significantly boosted its Last 32 hopes by routing Igokea Aleksandrovac
85-71 in the Israeli capital. Jerusalem raised its record to 4-3 in
Group E to stay in third place and also earned the potential
head-to-head tiebreak advantage with Igokea, who dropped to now 2-5.
Ronald Dupree tallied 22 points and 6 rebounds for Hapoel, Yotam
Halperin scored 14, Artiom Parakhouski amassed 13 points and 12

Unics Kazan held on for
a tough road win at Banvit Bandirma 71-79 to remain undefeated and
clinch a berth in the Last 32. The Group G leaders became the first
team to advance from the group thanks to a strong team effort, led by
Andrew Goudelock with 22 points. Unics never trailed, but Banvit stayed
close throughout the game. In the end the visitors had the right tools

CEZ Basketball Nymburk
held off a late Cibona Zagreb rally for a 77-84 road win in the
Croatian capital on Wednesday. The Czech champs never trailed, pulling
away with a 0-13 run en route to a 20-36 halftime lead. The visitors
led by 22 in the fourth quarter before Davor Kus led a 14-0 run and
late canned a triple to make it a 3-point game in the final minute.
However Nymburk made 8 free throws in the final half-minute – 6 of them

Nizhny Novgorod managed
to pull a more difficult win than the final score might suggest, as it
defeated Khimik Yuzhne, 86-66, at home on Wednesday. The win improves
the winners' record to 6-1 in Group F and is almost in the Last 32,
while Khimik drops to 4-3. The first three quarters saw several bursts
on both sides and things remained mostlybalanced, 56-52 after 30
minutes. However, in the final period, the hosts started with an 8-0

Panionios Athens 76 - 69 Spartak Saint Petersburg
A tough battle took place on Wednesday afternoon in
Athens as hosting Panionios Athens managed to survive Spartak St.
Petersburg by 76-69. The hosts managed to build a double-digit lead
midway through the game, but in the third quarter Spartak reacted and
tied the game to start the final period. In the end, Errick McCollum
lifted Panionios for a valuable win. Panionios stands now at 4-3 in

Cedevita
Zagreb held off already-eliminated Belgacom Spirou Basket 64-72 to pick
up its fourth consecutive win on Tuesday night. Victory improved
Cedevita to 5-2, securing it at least a share of the first place in
Group B, while Spirou remains winless after 7 games. Cedevita led for
most of the encounter, but let its lead slip in the fourth quarter as
the hosts went up 60-56. But Nolan Smith scored 10 of his game-high 23
points in the final 7 minutes of the game, and Cedevita finished it
with a 0-7 run to seal the deal. Ivan Ramljak added 16 points and Jusuf

advancing. Win improves Paris to 2-5 in the fifth place of Group C,
while Cimberio drops to 1-6 and is all but mathematically eliminated.
Paris pulled away to a double-digit lead in the second quarter, and led
by as many as 14 points on several occasions, before the visitors
rallied and cut it to 68-65 late in the fourth quarter. However, Jawad
Williams and Daniel Ewing put the game out of reach. Paris had six
scorers in double figures, as Andrew Albicy finished with 15 points,
Williams had 14 points plus 8 rebounds, while Maleye Ndoye netted 13.

Valencia did win head-to-head tiebreaker, however, because of its
16-point victory in Round 2. Ulm did not trail again after putting
together a 12-0 run in the second quarter, and pulled away to a
double-digit margin in the third. The hosts hit 12 triples, but the
visitors kept coming back, until Cameron Long ignited a 7-0 run late in

Jerusalem defeats Igokea Aleksandrovac in the Israeli capital on
Wednesday. Meanwhile, Lukoil drops to 2-5. The hosts led from start to
finish, and pulled away for good in the first period, using a 16-0
spurt that gave them 29-11 lead after 2 minutes in the second quarter.
Lukoil never came closer than 11 points, as Khimki cruised to victory.

Another
round passed by with 24 games with battles all across Europe, but when
the dust settled only one winning player earned MVP honors for Round 6
and that was none other than Vladimir Golubovic of Aykon TED Ankara
Kolejliler, as he racked up an index rating of 36. Golubovic led his
team to a valuable road win at Khimik Yuzhne by a slim 79-81 with a
great performance that included 22 points, 17 rebounds, 2 blocks and 9
drawn fouls. Next in line was Alando Tucker of Lukoil Academic Sofia
who fell short by a single point as he had an index rating of 35.
Tucker scored 29 points - including 11 of 12 free throws -, pulled 5
boards and drew 8 fouls in his team's win to Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem.

In a sentimental game that started with a minute of
silence to honor the victims of the plane crash that took place in
Kazan just a few days earlier, hosting Unics had to wait until the

Wedensday. The win lifts Unics to a 6-0 record in Group G and remains
the undefeated leader and almost becaomes a Last 32 team. On the other

Igokea Aleksandrovac and the big instigator of the victory for the
Russian team was Michael Green who, in the process, earned weekly MVP
honors for Regular Season Round 5 . Green racked up an index rating of
34 based on 17 points - 4 of 5 twos, 6 of 6 free throws -, 8 rebounds,
8 assists, 1 steal and 10 drawn fouls. He therefore was the most valued
player among winning teams - and overall - this week to earn the honor.
Second in line was Spartak St. Petersburg's Steven Burtt with an index

on court than Unics Kazan on the court on Wednesday, as the Russian
team blasted MZT Skopje Aerodrom 85-61 at home. Unics managed to start
the game with a 29-13 first-quarter score and never looked back. The
winners stay undefeated midway through the regular season in Group G
with a 5-0, while MZT Skopje drops to 1-4. Andrew Goudelock led the

Maccabi Haifa Bazan
improved to 4-1 in Group G and grabbed its fourth consecutive win -
three of them on the road - by rallying from a 17-point halftime
deficit to defeat Kalev Cramo Tallinn 64-68 in the Estonian capital on
Wednesday. Donta Smith paced the winners with 21 points, 6 rebounds and
5 assists. Brian Randle added 15 points while Ike Ofoegbu had 13 for

In a battle of Eurocup
powerhouses in recent years, Banvit Bandirma moved up to 3-2 in Group G
by downing VEF Riga 83-64 at home on Wednesday. Sammy Mejia and Chuck
Davis paced the winners with 15 points apiece. E.J. Rowland added 14
for Banvit. Kenan Barjamovic led VEF with 12 points. Derrick Nix added
11 for the guests, which dropped to 2-3. VEF battled hard in the
opening minutes of the game and trailed 28-23 early in the second

Khimik Yuzhne held off
Buducnost Voli 84-76 to retain a share of first place in Group F.
Rolands Freimanis scored 10 of his 17 points in the third quarter to
keep Khimik alive and Matt Gatens also scored 17 in addition to 8
rebounds for the hosts, who improved to 4-1 in Group F. Buducnost took
charge early behind Aleksandar Capin and led by 11 after one quarter.

Despite a balanced
first quarter, Nizhny Novgorod soared in the second half over PAOK
Thessaloniki to take a 87-53 home in on Wednesday night. The winners
improved their record to 4-1 to lead Group F and, in the process, knock
PAOK off the top of the ladder for a 3-2. Dijon Thompson led the
winners with his 15 points and 11 rebounds, Vadim Panin added 14,
Dmitry Golovin nailed 13, Dimitriy Khvostov posted 12 and Primoz Brezec

FoxTown Cantu stayed undefeated and improved to 5-0
in Group A by downing end-of-the-table Cibona Zagreb 79-86 in the
Croatian capital on Wednesday. Cantu stays as one of the two undefeated
teams - along with Unics Kazan in Group G - left in the Eurocup after 5
games. Cibona dropped to 0-5 and registered its 17th loss in as many

David Logan scored 12
of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as Alba Berlin pulled away for
57-77 road win over Belfius Mons Hainaut on Tuesday night. Win improves
Alba to 4-1 in a share of the Group D lead, while Belfius Mons remains
winless midway through the regular season campaign. Even though
Berliners led for majority of the game, the hosts remained close for
three quarters before Logan led Alba to a double-digit advantage it

Telekom Baskets Bonn
used a huge second quarter for a crucial road win, defeating Virtus
Rome 75-85 on Tuesday night. Win improves Telekom Baskets to 3-2, in a
sole possession of the third place in Group D, while Virtus Rome drops
to 2-3 in a share of the fourth place. The hosts led early, but Bonn
finished the second quarter on a 1-16 run, opening up 33-48 halftime

BCM
Gravelines-Dunkerque hit 14 triples, used huge fourth quarter, and
rallied from a 13-point deficit to beat the visiting CAI Zaragoza 85-67
on Tuesday. Win improved Gravelines to 4-1, in a share of the top spot
in Group D, while Zaragoza drops to 2-3, in a share of the fourth place
in the standings. The game of streaks started with the visitors
grabbing an early 2-15 lead, only for Gravelines to end up in front

Cedevita assured itself
at least a share of third place in Group B halfway through the Eurocup
Regular Season when it took out injury-plagued host Elan
Chalon-sur-Saone 65-80 on the road Tuesday. Cedevita raised its record
to 3-2, a victory behind co-leaders Bilbao Basket and EWE Baskets
Oldenburg, while 2-2 Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari plays Wednesday.
Cedevita made its move with a 1-11 run bridging the first two quarters.

A historic streak fell
to a barrage of great shooting as EWE Baskets downed visiting Bilbao
Basket 91-96 in the first Eurocup regular season loss ever for the
visitors. Until Tuesday, Bilbao had won 22 straight regular season
games over four separate seasons since debuting in the competition on
November 25, 2008 with a victory against Hemofarm Stada. The streak
ended when Robin Smeulders of Oldenburg ended a last-ditch Bilbao rally

CEZ Basketball Nymburk picked up a crucial win,
beating Artland Dragons Quakenbrueck 86-70 on Tuesday. Win improves
Nymburk to 2-3 in a sole possession of the fourth place in Group A,
while Artland drops to 1-4. The Czech champion scored 12 consecutive
points during a 17-3 spurt to end the second quarter and build 43-31
halftime lead. Artland regained the lead by opening the second half
with a 0-13 run, however, Nymburk paced by Dylan Page and Jiri Welsch.

November 12, 2013 - Regular season, Round 5: The midway point arrives!
The midway point of the
of the Eurocup regular season hits this week! Twenty-four Round 5 games
over two days will leave every team with five played and will help
clear up the race for the Last 32. Three teams enter Round 5 with
perfect records intact, while six are in the hunt for their first wins.
In five of the eight regular groups, there is currently a tie for the
pivotal third place and in three of those the teams that are tied will

After
another flurry of games in Round 4, only one player managed to lead his
team to victory in a more efficient way than the others. This week it
was none other than FoxTown Cantu's Joe Ragland, who racked up an index
rating of 36, the most among players in winning teams. Ragland scored
19 points, pulled 6 boards, dished 7 assists, had 3 steals and drew 4
fouls for an index rating of 36 and to lead his team to a 88-73 home
win over CEZ Basketball Nymburk. Ragland became the second FoxTown
Cantu player this season to earn MVP honors after Pietro Aradori did

CAI Zaragoza 74 - 68 Virtus Rome
CAI Zaragoza evened its
record in Group D at 2-2 with a 74-68 win at home over Virtus Rome.
Joseph Jones collected 17 points and 9 rebounds while Giorgi
Shermandini had 15 points for Zaragoza, which snapped a two-game losing
streak with the win. Viktor Sanikidze added 12 points and Pedro
Llompart chipped in 10 points for the winners. Rome saw its two-game
winning streak come to an end in dropping to 2-2 despite Jimmy Baron

thrashed Belgacom Spirou Charleroi 53-70, picking up its third
consecutive victory on Wednesday night at Spiroudome. EWE Baskets
improved to 3-1, in a second place of Group B, while Spirou remains
winless at the bottom of the standings. The visitors trailed only in
the opening minute, built a double-digit lead by the halftime, before

Sam Van Rossom and Oliver Lafayette each had 13 for Valencia, which
downed 13-of-24 three-point shots and 9-of-9 free throw attempts

26-0 run as the hosts stormed ahead and never relented. The visitors

In a tough duel played on Wednesday night in Khimki,
Russia, host Khimki Moscow Region held off Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir 80-66
not without suffering. The hosts controlled the first steps of the
game, but the guests jumped ahead soon enough and Khimki had to fight
back to find the lead again at the break. In the second half, Khimki
held off Karsiyaka's attempts to the win until the very last minute,

improved Paris to 1-3, while Asvel dropped to 2-2 in Group C. Behind
Landing Sane and Daniel Ewing, the hosts made a 21-4 run that bridged
the first and second quarters, grabbed 31-16 lead and never
relinquished it. Sane had 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Nicolas Lang

The
race for the weekly MVP honors in Round 3 didn't have any competition
as Maccabi Haifa Bazan's Donta Smith dynamited the race with his huge
triple-double that led his team to a smashing road win at VEF Riga,
73-94. Smith racked up an index rating of 41 comprised of 18 points - 7
of 8 2-pointers -, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals and 6 drawn fouls.
It was only the fifth triple-double ever in Eurocup competition -
second for a visiting team - and the first in over six years. Previous
triple-doublers were Todor Stoykov with Lukoil Academic, Meir Tapiro of

In arguably one of the

double overtime on Tuesday. Petteri Koponen paced the winners with 20
points and 6 rebounds but Sergey Monya was the man of the game, forcing
a second overtime with a big three-pointers and adding two more right

Group D has a new look
at the top after Virtus Rome got its first win at home 85-71 over
previously unbeaten Alba Berlin on Tuesday. Rome and Berlin are now in
second place with 1-2 records while BCM Gravelines Dunkerque rides
alone at 3-0 in first. Rome stormed to a 44-25 lead at halftime and
never looked back on the way to a solid victory based on sweet
shooting. Quinton Hosley paced Rome with 20 points while Jimmy Baron

Bilbao Basket used a
huge run at the end of the third and start of the fourth quarter en
route to 98-71 win over the visiting Belgacom Spirou Charleroi on
Tuesday night. Bilbao improves to 3-0 in Group B, while the visitors
remain winless, in the last place, after three games. Spirou closed
within 53-47 midway through the third quarter, but German Gabriel and
Fran Pilepic sparked a spurt, and Dairis Bertans finished it with

Using its better
long-range shooting to full advantage, Ratiopharm Ulm came back to post
a double-digit road win, 69-78, over host Paris Levallois in Group C on
Tuesday. Ulm lifted its record to 1-2 while Paris fell to 0-3 despite
boasting advantages in every statistical category except three-point
shooting and total points. Phillipp Schwethelm was example A for the
winners, with all 12 of his points scored on 4-for-6 triples, one more

the game went. The visitors hit the ground running to lead by as many
as 17 points in the very first quarter and never look back on the way

margin after 10 minutes. Even though the host rallied and cut it within
3 points in the third quarter, Unics never relinquished the lead.

games on Wednesday night, but when the dust settled, Mouphtaou Monra
Yarou of Radnicki Kragujevac emerged as the player on a winning team
with the highest index rating of the week, 41. Yarou led his team with
17 points - 7 of 9 2-pointers -, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 fouls
drawn to be the player with the highest individual performance on Week

PAOK Thessaloniki collected its
second victory in as many games by winning a thriller on the road 89-88
at Alba Fehervar in Eurocup Group F action. Kostas Charalampidis made
what amounted to be the game-winning free throws with 43 seconds left
for PAOK. Maurice Kemp missed a put-back at the buzzer for Fehervar.
Michael Tsairelis collected 21 points, six rebounds, five assists and
two steals for PAOK, which also received 19 points from Charalampidis.

grabbed a huge 69-84 away win over Artland Dragons Quakenbruck to take
the lead in Group A with a 2-0 record. A 9-22 run to open the game made
the difference and the visitors never looked back. Andrija Stipanovic
paced Ostend with 20 points on 10-for-13 shooting and 6 rebounds,
Mateusz Ponitka scored 14, Ryan Thompson 13 and Quentin Serron and
Pierre Antoine Gillet netted 10 apiece for the winners. For the

improved to 1-1 in Group H play. Bradley Buckman collected 23 points
and 13 rebounds while Lofton scored 14 points and Colton Iverson and

Khimik Yuzhne improved
to 2-0 in group F by edging Nizhny Novgorod 78-76. The hosts led
throughout the second half, but Nizhny rallied late and had a shot to
force overtime, but Brandon Paul missed at the buzzer. Nizhny dropped
to 1-1 with the loss. Jamal Shuler paced the victors with 18 points and
Paul Delaney added 16. Artem Pustovi added 3 of the team’s 7 blocked

game of the season, Bilbao Baskets used the extra session to edge
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari 94-100, and improve to 2-0 atop of
Group B on Wednesday. The two teams combined to hit 26 three-pointers,
but the unlikely hero for Bilbao was its center Antanas Kavaliauskas
who scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter and

Cimberio Varese held
off late charge from Paris Levallois, prevailing 77-71 to earn its
first victory in Group C on Wednesday. The hosts never trailed and led
by as many as 25 points midway through the third quarter, but the
visiting side orchestrated a rally that saw them cut the deficit 73-71,
but Cimberio held on in the final 30 seconds. Keydren Clark led the
hosts in victory with 21 points, Aubrey Coleman and Ebi Ere had 13

Panionios Athens jumped
to the top of Group H with a narrow 68-69 road win at Spartak St.
Petersburg. Uros Duvnjak scored the go-ahead three in the final minute

Panionios improved to 2-0 while handing Spartak its first loss. Carter
led the winners with 23 points, Landon Milbourne added 17 and Erick

ULEB Cup champs used a 12-25 fourth quarter, including 7 unanswered
points in the last minute to improve to 2-0 in Group E. Derwin Kitchen
led the winners with 17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 assists,
while Ronald Dupree and Yotam Halperin netted 13 each for Hapoel. Ramon

win over Belfius Mons Hainaut, improving to 1-1 in Group D on Tuesday.
The visitors trailed 44-40 at halftime, but outscored Belfius Mons
32-48 after the break for a comfortable win. Jordan Taylor scored 22
points with 5 assists and 4 steals to lead in victory. Philipp Goss
netted 15 points, Jimmy Baron 14, and Quinton Hosley 13 for the

EWE Baskets Oldenburg
picked up its first win of Group B, after topping Elan Chalon sur Saone
71-82 on Tuesday. Rickey Paulding hit three triples in the third
quarter to give the visitors lead for good, before 5-14 spurt to open
the fourth quarter got EWE Baskets to 59-73. Paulding finished the game
shooting 5-for-7 from downtown, and 21 points. Chris Kramer had 15

Buducnost VOLI Podgorica held off the visiting Aykon
TED Ankara Kolejliler 80-73 to improve to 1-1 in Group F. Buducnost led
for most of the encounter, but pulled away for good in the final 3
minutes with basket from Suad Sehovic, Cedomir Vikotvac and Aleksandar
Capin. It was Sehovic who paced the winners with 21 points, while
Jeleel Akindele had 17 points plus 8 rebounds, and Vitkovac also scored

A complete thriller in Kazan, Russia, was solved in
favor host Unics Kazan by 72-71 over Banvit Bandirma on Wednesday.
Unics controlled most of the game, but Chuck David' free throws and
late heroics by Earl Rowland had made it 70-71 for the guests. With one
second to go, and after a timeout, Nikos Zisis fed Andrew Goudelock for
a last three that went in and gave the win to the hosts. Now, Unics

The
2013-14 Eurocup season started with a bang this week. 48 teams playing
24 games, left a lot of room for variables, but when the dust settled
at the end of the night on Wednesday, Pietro Aradori of FoxTown Cantu
was the player with the highest index rating at 36 points. Aradori led
his team to a slim 88-86 home win over Telenet Ostend thanks to his 28
points - 7 of 8 2-pointers, 11 of 11 free throws -, 6 rebounds and 6
drawn fouls for a 36 index rating. Next in line was VEF Riga's Kenan

Union Olimpija Ljubljana started
its Eurocup season in style by downing Cimberio Varese 67-59 in Group
C. A 14-6 clsing run and 53 rebounds pulled down against 32 made the
difference for the hosts, who were led by 15 points and 6 rebounds from
Sasu Salin and 14 points and 11 rebounds amassed by Deividas Gailius.
Alex Stephenson pulled down 12 rebounds for the winners. Keydren Clark

from a double-digit deficit to pull out 88-86 win over Artland Dragons
Quakenbrueck in Group A on Wednesday. The visitors led throughout the
first half, and still held 10-point advantage in the third quarter, but
Pietro Aradori led Cantu's comeback in the third, and Adrian Uter in
the fourth quarter to give the hosts 77-64 lead they managed to hold on

Dunkerque opened its Eurocup campaign in Group D with a brilliant 69-75
away win in the Italian capital over Virtus Rome. Abdou Mbaye paced the
winners with 17 points, Jonathan Rousselle contributed with 14 points
and 3 steals, Yakhouba Diawara scored 12 plus 6 rebounds, Souleyman
DIabate added 11 points and Marcus Lewis 10. Quinton Hosley led all

Belgacom Spirou Charleroi in Group B on Wednesday. The visitors pulled
away with a 2-16 run that bridged the first and second quarters, and
its lead never came to question after that. A.J. Slaughter paced the
winners with 14 points, Clint Capela amassed 12 points plus 10
rebounds, Herve Toure chipped in with 11, while Steed Tchicamboud

the road in Group E on Wednesday. Gerald Lee starred for Ploiesti with
24 points and 7 rebounds, Jonte Flowers and Alhaji Mohammed scored 18
apiece, while Chris Dunn netted 14 more. James Augustine and Mike Green

Group B with a resounding 79-96 win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg on
Wednesday. The visitors finished the first quarter with a 3-15 spurt,

Parakhouski led the winners with 21 points on 10-of-14 two-pointers and
8 rebounds. Yotam Halperin and Derwin Kitchen each added 14 points
while Ronald Dupree had 10 for Hapoel. Kitchen added 9 assists. Filip

of 14 points and 10 rebounds, Jon Diebler added 13 points, Can Altintig

In its first-ever game
in the competition, Bisons Loimaa grabbed a big win by edging Neptunas
Klaipeda 63-62 in Helsinki on Wednesday. Loimaa, the first Finnish team
to ever play the Eurocup, went up to 1-0 in Group H. Frank Robinson and
Billy Keys paced the winners with 14 points apiece. Mikko Koivisto
added 11 while Justin Hawkins had 10 for Loimaa. Valdas Vasylius led

Wednesday. Donnie McGrath led the winners with 16 points. Artem
Yakovenko added 15 while Steven Burtt had 10 for Spartak. Chris Lofton
led Besiktas with 14 points. Muratcan Guler added 13 on 5-of-5
two-point shots for the hosts. Burtt and McGrath fueled a 2-15 run

Nizhny Novgorod cruised
to a comfortable 82-64 win over debutant Alba Fehervar. The hosts had a
pair of 8-0 runs and another of 11 straight points all in the first
half to take a 48-32 halftime lead and never looked back. Vadim Panin
scored 13 of his 18 points in the first quarter to start the game
strong. Primoz Brezec added 17 points and 8 rebounds. Petr Gubanov
netted 12 points, Semen Antonov posted 11 plus 9 boards and Brandon

Panionios Athens
grabbed its first win in Group H by edging Radnicki Kragujevac 77-72 in
the Greek capital on Wednesday. Errick McCollum led the winners with 27
points. Uros Duvnjak added 19 on 10-of-10 free throws for Panionios.
Dusan Mladjan led Radnicki with 16 points. Mouphtaou Yarou and Dennis
Seeley each added 14 while Stefan Balmazovic had 11 for the guests,
which overcame a slow start to get a 9-15 lead late in the first

In Group A opener, Le
Mans Sarthe Basket survived a thriller ending to hold off Cibona Zagreb
76-78 on Wednesday in Basketball Center Drazen Petrovic. Led by DeShaun
Wood, Le Mans was in front by as many as 18 points late in the third
quarter, but the hosts put together a spirited comeback. It all
resulted in late drama that ended with Jerel Blassingame missing a

Unics Kazan confirmed
its status as one of the teams to beat in the 2013-14 Eurocup season by
downing Maccabi Haifa Bazan 67-75 in Israel on Wednesday. Unics grabbed
a valuable road win to get difficult Group G started behind 20 points
from Andrew Goudelock. Six other Unics players scored at least 5 points
for the winners. Ike Ofoegbu led Haifa with 15 points. Moran Roth added

Khimik Yuzhne made its Eurocup debut one to remember
by routing Aykon TED Ankara Kolejliler 60-84 in the Turkish capital.
Khimik led by just 3 at halftime, but slowly built a double-digit lead
in the third quarter and put the game away with a run of 17 unanswered
points over the final seven-and-a-half minutes. Romeo Travis tallied 19
points, Jamal Shuler made 4 of 6 three-pointers en route to 14 points,
Paul Delaney recorded 15 points and 5 assists.

Two recent Eurocup
Finals participants went toe-to-toe to open the new season in Group C,
with last season's runner-up, Bilbao Basket, finally hanging on for an
82-77 victory over visiting Cedevita Zagreb. Alex Mumbru's back-to-back
three-pointers with less than 90 seconds left broke what had been a
contentious game most of the way in favor of the hosts. Mumbru finished
with 19 points and fellow-veteran Raul Lopez 14, with each making 4

Two-time Eurocup
champion Valencia Basket Club rocked steady on the road to open a new
season by easily stopping competition debutante Paris Levallois 68-85
in Group C. With its three-point shooters sharp early, Valencia raced
in front and established double-digit leads before halftime that lasted

Eurocup debut in style, putting together a 27-0 first half run en rout
to crushing Belfius Mons Hainaut 73-56 on Tuesday. Zaragoza faithful
had plenty to cheer about, as the hosts scored 27 unanswered points to
bridge the first and second quarters. Damjan Rudez and Jonathan Tabu
hit two triples each during the big spurt, as Zaragoza built 45-20

Greece witnessed an absolute thriller to open Group F as host PAOK
defeated hard-charging Buducnost VOLI Podgorica 85-84 when D.J. Cooper
unleashed a three-point buzzer beater for the seventh, and final, lead
change in the game's last 2 minutes! Buducnost had led for most of the
middle quarters, but couldn't fend off PAOK's final rush after
Aleksandar Capin made 1 of 2 free throws for the visitors with 7

David Logan nailed 6
three-pointers and Alba Berlin shot 12-for17 from behind the arc,
cruising to 65-86 away win against the German rival Telekom Baskets
Bonn in Group D clash on Tuesday. Berliners ledfrom start to finish,
opened up a double-digit lead before the end of the first quarter, and
never looked back with margin reaching as many as 34 points in the

VEF Riga pulled away in
the fourth quarter to down visiting MZT Skopje Aerodrom 80-71, opening
its Group G campaign with a win on Tuesday. Tomas Delininkaitis and
Arturs Berzins scored three-pointers in a 10-0 Riga run to start fourth
quarter, and take the lead for good, before Dee Brown and Kenan
Bajramovic and Dee Brown hit more triples to seal the deal. With this

Banvit Bandirma registered its first win in the
2013-14 Eurocup by thrashing Kalev Cramo Tallinn 86-60 in Group G at
home on Tuesday. Banvit managed to grab an important win in its first
home game so far this season after six official road games in both the
Turkish Cup and the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Round. Kalev
could not get away with a win in its first Eurocup game since 2007-08.
