April 6, 2017 - Unicaja Malaga is 2017 7DAYS EuroCup champion
Unicaja Malaga is the 2016-17 7DAYS EuroCup
champion! Unicaja won its first trophy of any kind in 11 years with a
stunning come-from-behind victory over Valencia Basket 58-63 in front
of a sellout crowd at Fuente de San Luis. The visitors used a 0-18
fourth-quarter charge to come back from a 13-point deficit. Unicaja’s
defense held Valencia to just 4 fourth-quarter points. Homegrown guard
Alberto Diaz paced Unicaja with 12 points and Jamar Smith added 10.
Bojan Dubljevic paced Valencia with 16 points. Valencia outrebounded
Unicaja 36-26, including 15 offensive boards, but suffered a poor
shooting night, making just 12 of 33 two-point shots (36.4%) and 9 of
36 threes (25%). By winning, Unicaja became the first EuroCup newcomer
to win the competition since Hapoel Jerusalem did so in 2004. Read more

April 5, 2017 - Game 3
It all comes down to one game, a showdown that will
determine the 2016-17 season champion of the 7DAYS EuroCup. Valencia
Basket and Unicaja Malaga exchanged home wins in the first two games of
the finals, so best-of-three series is tied at 1-1. Now, Valencia hosts
Game 3 at Fuente de San Luis Pavilion on Wednesday at 20:30 CET because
it earned the right to play at home by having the best overall record
in the Top 16. Unicaja has the chance to lift its first title of any
kind since winning the Spanish League crown in 2006. It would also be
the club's second European trophy after winning the Korac Cup in 2001.
Valencia is aiming for its fourth EuroCup title after conquering the
competition in 2003, 2010 and 2014. Unicaja has already eliminated FC
Bayern Munich and Lokomotiv Kuban without having home-court advantage
in any series since the Top 16. Read more here.
Here is the schedule for Game 3:
Valencia Basket vs. Unicaja Malaga 58-63
March 31, 2017 - Game 2
The 7DAYS EuroCup Finals have arrived to Malaga,
Spain, where the Martin Carpena Sports Palace will be the stage for
Game 2 in the best-of-three series. Valencia had a 1-0 lead in the
series after winning a true battle on its home court, but now Unicaja
that advantage in Game 2, with over 10,000 fans expected to try to help
keep their team alive in the competition. If Unicaja wins, Valencia
will host Game 1 at Fuente De San Luis on Wednesday, April 5. Valencia
took a 68-62 win in Game 1, making history in many ways. Not one, but
two of its players broke the EuroCup's all-time scoring record.
Here is the schedule for Game 2:
Unicaja Malaga vs. Valencia Basket 79-71
March 28, 2017 - Game 1
The 7DAYS EuroCup Finals starts at Fuente De San
Luis with Game 1 of the best-of-three title series on Tuesday at 20:30
CET. Unicaja can become the first newcomer to win the EuroCup since
Hapoel Jerusalem lifted the trophy in 2004. Valencia is in its fifth
EuroCup final, an all-time record, and looks for its fourth title,
which would be twice as much as any other team. It will be a very
special series for Valencia team captain Rafa Martinez, who already
ranks first in three-pointers made all time in the EuroCup, but can now
beat several more records in the finals. First, Martinez needs two
appearances to rank first in games played: Vladimir Veremeenko took
part in 130 games but Martinez is right behind at 129. If the finals
goes to three games and Martinez starts them all, he will be the first
player to reach 100 in that category.
