dmitry kulaginFor stepping up when his team needed him most to stay perfect this season, Dmitry Kulagin of Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar is Euroleague Basketball's choice for MVP of the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals. Lokomotiv faced the loss of its top scorer, forward Ryan Broekhoff, right before its quarterfinal series began with dangerous Herbalife Gran Canaria. But there was no reason to worry, because Kulagin, a former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion, picked up the scoring slack in record-setting fashion to lead Lokomotiv to a 2-0 sweep. Kulagin posted 26 points per game in the series, giving him the highest scoring average for the quarterfinals in the history of the competition! What's more, his 32-point explosion in Game 2 was the second-highest scoring total for Lokomotiv player in the club's 87 games over five EuroCup seasons to date. Kulagin's effort helped his team reach the semifinals for the third time and raise its record to 18-0, one victory short of the EuroCup's best winning streak ever, which also belongs to Lokomotiv. March 15, 2018 - Quarterfinals Game 3 MVP: Chris Wright, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia

chris wrightWith a late show of force before its devoted home crowd on Wednesday, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia qualified to the 7DAYS EuroCup Semifinals for the first time in club history. Among the protagonists of that historic achievement was guard Chris Wright, who also earned the MVP honor for Quarterfinals Game 3 with a performance index rating of 34. Wright's 25 points led Reggio Emilia to a 105-99 win over Zenit St Petersburg in do-or-die Game 3. His PIR and points total were EuroCup career highs for Wright. He also matched his personal bests in rebounds (6), steals (3) and minutes (30).Wright's 9 points and 3 assists in the fourth quarter helped decide the game and the series. Wright hit 8 of 11 two-point shots, 1 of 2 three-pointers and 6 of 8 free throws on the night. March 14, 2018 - Game 3

With Darussafaka Istanbul and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar waiting in the 7DAYS EuroCup Semifinals, four more teams meet on Wednesday eager to join them. For FC Bayern Munich and UNICS Kazan in one series and Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia and Zenit St. Petersburg in the other, it is win-or-go-home time. March 10, 2018 - Quarterfinals Game 2 MVP: Dmitry Kulagin, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar

dmitry kulaginNot only did Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar remain undefeated after 18 games to reach the 7DAYS EuroCup Semifinals on Friday, but star guard Dmitry Kulagin became the quarterfinals Game 2 MVP by posting the highest performance index rating among players on winning teams. Kulagin collected a pair personal bests in Lokomotiv's resounding 59-80 road win over Herbalife Gran Canaria in Game 2. He finished the game with 32 points, which was both his new career high and the most points scored in any quarterfinal game in two years. Kulagin downed 4 of 7 two-point shots, 4 of 8 threes and 12 of 12 free throws on the night. He added 4 rebounds and 9 fouls drawn to amass a 34 PIR, another personal best in his second EuroCup season. The player with the highest PIR in this round was Devin Booker of FC Bayern Munich, whose index rating of 37, despite his team's road loss to UNICS Kazan, was the best in any quarterfinals game in almost three years. March 8, 2018 - Game 2

Home-court advantage was very important in Game 1 of the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals as all four home teams - Darussafaka Istanbul, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnofar, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia and FC Bayern Munich - registered respective home wins and took 1-0 leads in their best-of-three series. All of them will play on the road in Game 2 knowing a victory is worth a series sweep and a spot in the semifinals.

March 7, 2018 - Quarterfinals, Game 1 MVP: Jalen Reynolds, Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia

jalen reynoldsWith Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia hosting its first 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals game in 12 years, big man Jalen Reynolds would not let the home fans go home disappointed and in the process earned the MVP honor for Game 1 on Tuesday. Reynolds had his fourth double-double of the season as Reggio Emilia downed visiting Zenit St Petersburg 75-61 to take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three series. Reynolds scored 19 points on 9-for-10 two-point shooting, helping Reggio Emilia equal a club record with 28 two-pointers made. Reynolds also pulled down 11 rebounds and dished 2 assists for a performance index rating of 29, the highest of all players in the four Game 1s on Tuesday. The second-best index rating in the quarterfinals openers was 28 and belonged to Scottie Wilbekin of Darussafaka Istanbul, who was the regular season MVP. In his team's tense 57-54 home win over Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, Wilbekin netted 16 points to go with 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal and 8 fouls drawn. Read more here.





March 6, 2018 - Game 1

Action resumes in the 2017-18 7DAYS EuroCup with the playoffs; the last eight teams standing will play best-of-three playoffs series until one of them is left as the competition's champion. The playoffs start on Tuesday with four exciting showdowns. Those teams which ranked first in their Top 16 groups will enjoy home-court advantage in each series. There is no better time for basketball fans to sit back and enjoy great basketball. A new EuroCup champion will be crowned in less than two months!
