April 8, 2013 - London mayor welcomes festivities for Final Four in May
A
month before its streets fill with basketball fun, London was the
setting on Monday for an announcement of several initiatives that will
make the 2013 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four a lasting link
between Europe's elite competition and the United Kingdom. Euroleague
Basketball was proud to have Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, join
in the presentation of two major additions to festivities to be held
during Final Four weekend: a unique and expansive Fan Zone that will
make basketball a centerpiece at one of London's signature attractions,
Trafalgar Square, with three days' worth of activities free to the
public; and the organization of activities under the One Team corporate
social responsibility programme that will continue Euroleague
Basketball's grass-roots work in the UK well after the Final Four is
over. Read more here.
April 4, 2013 - Longest-ever Top 16 set to finish with unprecedented drama
On the eve of its last week of play, the longest Top
16 round in European club basketball history has added unprecedented
drama to the race for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs. No less
than eight teams have reached their 14th and final games of the Top 16
still fighting for either a spot in the playoffs or home-court
advantage once they start next Tuesday, April 9. Right now, FC
Barcelona Regal is the only team that knows its definitive position in
the standings, first place in Top 16 Group F. Before this week's games,
the other eight challengers face almost 75 possible combinations of
wins, losses and point differences that will determine which of them
qualify for the playoffs or earn homecourt advantage by placing first
or second in their groups. Read more here.

Among
the native Londoners who can't wait to see the 2013 Turkish Airlines

in Tottenham, Mensah-Bonsu lived in London until age 16, when he moved
to the United States to pursue his basketball career. Since then,
Mensah-Bonsu returns to London frequently, and last summer enjoyed the
once-in-a-lifetime chance to play for Great Britain in the 2012 Olympic
Games at The O2, the same world-class arena where the Final Four will
be held from May 10 to 12. "I am grateful that the Euroleague shows
London as an up-and-coming city as far as basketball is concerned,"
Mensah-Bonsu recently told Euroleague.net. "People will embrace the

March 6, 2013 - 2013 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four logo unveiled
Euroleague
Basketball is proud to present the visual identity for its flagship
event, the 2013 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, to be held from
May 10 to 12 at The O2 in London, with the unveiling of the event logo,
which seeks to embody the United Kingdom capital's unique blend of the
modern and the classical. The logo has been created by the
international award-winning Greek agency Designers United, creators of
three previous Final Four logos – for Athens in 2007, Berlin in 2009
and Paris in 2010. The 2013 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four logo
is inspired by London’s DNA as a modern and edgy city that conserves a
hint of tradition, which is reflected by the juxtaposition of a modern,
graffiti-inspired "lion-ball" topped with a classic crown. Read more here.
