A
winning effort in his team's final game of the Turkish Airlines
Euroleague Regular Season allowed Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos Piraeus

31, his second-best mark in 150 career EuroLeague games. He only had a
higher PIR last month against ALBA Berlin in Round 30 , when he won his
first weekly MVP honor. Vezenkov finished Friday's game with 20 points
on 6-for-8 two-point shooting and 11 rebounds – including a career-high
9 defensive boards – plus an assist, a steal, and 4 fouls drawn. Iffe

March
was an important month for FC Barcelona as it became the first team to
qualify for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs and then the first
to secure home-court advantage for those best-of-five quarterfinals.
Star power forward Nikola Mirotic was at the center of it all, which
made him the natural choice as the Euroleague Basketball MVP of March.
Mirotic was unstoppable throughout the month, leading the competition
in PIR with 26.8 per game while helping Barcelona beat Panathinaikos
OPAP Athens, Real Madrid and AX Armani Exchange Milan on the road, as
well as TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz and ALBA Berlin at home.

high of 34 in Barcelona's only loss in March, on the road at Maccabi
Playtika Tel Aviv in overtime. The MVP of the Month honor is now in its

seven of its eight playoff qualifiers. At this point in the last four
fully round-robin seasons, by the time more than 85% of all games were
complete, at least three playoff berths had been filled. And after one
more round had been played, at least five playoff teams were known.

Barcelona also needs a road win at archrival Real Madrid (17-11) to

March 1, 2021 - MVP for February: Nikola Kalinic, Valencia Basket
Having
struggled to start 2021, Valencia Basket faced three higher-ranked
teams in February who could have easily prolonged its problems. Thanks
in large part to the relentless efforts of forward Nikola Kalinic,
Euroleague Basketball's choice as MVP of February, Valencia instead
aced those three games to reassert itself in the super-hot Turkish
Airlines EuroLeague Playoffs race. From his swing forward position,
Kalinic led Valencia in scoring, assists and performance index rating
to help knock off CSKA Moscow, Real Madrid and Zenit St Petersburg,
top-five teams as the month started. The former continental champion,
now in his seventh EuroLeague season, reached two of his career-highs
in February. His consistency and versatility throughout the month were
everything that Valencia needed to shake off a potentially fatal spell
of losing and reposition itself for a strong run at the playoffs. The
MVP of the Month honor is now in its 17th season. Although statistics
and performance index ratings are taken into consideration for the
award, they alone do not determine who is honored. The winner is named
by Euroleague Basketball based on his and his team's performance during
the month in question. Kalinic has not only won the MVP of the Month
honor for the first time in his career, but is also the first such
honoree in Valencia's six EuroLeague seasons to date. Read more here.
February 28, 2021 - MVP of the week: Vasilije Micic, Anadolu Efes Istanbul

point guard Vasilije Micic earned the fifth weekly MVP award of his
Turkish Airlines EuroLeague career. Micic netted a career-high 37
points, making 4 of 6 two-point shots and then setting a pair of club
records by making 6 three points and 11 free throws without a miss. He
also compiled 5 assists, 3 steals and 8 fouls drawn for a career-best
performance index rating of 44. Micic was followed at a distance by
Jordan Mickey of Khimki Moscow Region and his 29 PIR in a road loss
against AX Armani Exchange Milan. Mickey had 23 points on 9-for-16
two-point shooting, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. Also with a PIR

the catalyst of a remarkable comeback, Shane Larkin earned the 11th MVP
of the Week honor of his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague career by leading
Anadolu Efes Istanbul to a 76-53 home win over Olympiacos Piraeus on
Thursday. Larkin's performance index rating of 32 topped all EuroLeague
players this week, and his role was central in Efes recovering from a

Barcelona's 86-62 thumping of Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday. Read more here.

Round 24 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague is
headlined by one of the most famous fixtures in European basketball as
local rivals Olympiacos Piraeus and Panathinaikos OPAP Athens go head
to head. CSKA Moscow (16-7) is facing one of its toughest situations in
many years as it heads into Thursday's testing road trip to Valencia
Basket (11-12). The reigning champion, despite occupying second place
in the standings, has lost four of its last six games after going down
at home to FC Bayern Munich last week. That was an even more costly
defeat as it also saw the loss of star center Nikola Milutlinov, who is
set to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. Read more here.

February 1, 2021 - MVP for January: Jan Vesely, Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul
The
first month of 2021 was one to remember for Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul
and its iconic veteran center, Jan Vesely, who is EuroLeague
Basketball's choice for MVP in January. Fenerbahce's rise through the
Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings last month had Vesely's
fingerprints all over it. The former champion posted the highest
performance index rating in the league over six games in January to
lead Fenerbahce to a 6-0 record and a tie for eighth place. Fenerbahce
had started January in 13th place. Half of Fenerbahce's victories were
on the road and three were against opponents placed higher in the
standings when they tipped off. Vesely was near flawless throughout,
making 42 of his 57 two-point shots and each of the 12 free throws that
he attempted during the month. When January was over, he had led all
EuroLeague players with an average PIR of 23.2, making him a slam dunk
choice for the month's top honor. The MVP of the Month honor is now in
its 17th season. Although statistics and performance index ratings are
taken into consideration for the award, they alone do not determine who
is honored. Read more here.

November 30, 2020 - MVP of November: Mike James, CSKA Moscow
Just
a month ago, CSKA Moscow sat in 10th place in the Turkish Airlines
EuroLeague with a 3-3 record and what looked like a long road to its
usual position at or near the top of the standings. That road was made
short, though, by the inspired play since then of unstoppable guard
Mike James, who is Euroleague Basketball's choice as MVP for November.
With James going from strength to strength as CSKA mowed down five
consecutive opponents, the Russian giants are suddenly tied for first
place on victories and looking very much like the same juggernaut that
has reached 16 out of the last 17 Final Fours. Despite missing one
round, James outscored everybody in the EuroLeague in November, ending
the month with a three-game flurry of point production that culminated
in a memorable, game-winning, four-point play. With that, James not
only completed his month-long rise from fourth to first place in the
top-scorer race, but also gave CSKA bragging rights as the only perfect
EuroLeague team in November. Read more here.
November 28, 2020 - MVP of the Week: Luke Sikma, ALBA Berlin
A
stellar individual performance in a winning effort has earned Luke
Sikma of ALBA Berlin the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP of the Week
honor. Sikma put on an all-around performance in Round 11 to lead ALBA
to a 100-80 home win against Khimki Moscow Region. ALBA reached 100
points for just the fifth time in EuroLeague action, all of them in the
last two seasons with Sikma and head coach Aito Garcia Reneses. His
performance index rating of 32 was not only the week's best, but also
matched his personal high. He finished the game with a career-high 20
points on 7-of-10 two-point and 6-of-7 free-throw shooting. Sikma, the
2018-19 7DAYS EuroCup MVP, added 9 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, a
block, and 5 fouls drawn, all in less than 24 minutes on the floor.
This is the second weekly MVP award of Sikma's career. He previously
shared that honor with Nick Calathes in Round 9 of the 2019-20 Regular
Season. His teammate Niels Giffey posted a PIR of 29 against Khimki, a
new personal best. Giffey had a career-high 22 points on 4-of-4
three-point shooting plus 4 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 2 blocks.

After
six previous Turkish Airlines EuroLeague seasons without one, Vladimir
Lucic has claimed the MVP of the Week award for the second time in a

This week's second-best performances belonged to Darrun Hilliard of
CSKA Moscow and Corey Walden of Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade, who posted
identical PIRs of 32. Hilliard dominated CSKA's thrilling 89-96 home
win over TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz with a personal-best 31
points. His seventh three-pointer of the night broke an 84-84 tie with
23 seconds left, matching CSKA's single-game record, while his point

November 2, 2020 - MVP for October: Marius Grigonis, Zalgiris Kaunas
He
emerged last month as a go-to leader on a team that has already in this
young season accomplished something unprecedented. And now, for his key
role in helping Zalgiris Kaunas lock down a share of first place,
26-year-old swingman Marius Grigonis is Euroleague Basketball's choice
as the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague MVP for October. His numbers are
more than respectable, but perhaps the most important one shows
Grigonis averaging at least 4 minutes more than anyone else on a
Zalgiris team that is the first in EuroLeague history to win four road
games in four countries during the same month. In three of them,
Zalgiris trailed after 30 minutes on other teams' courts, but Grigonis
was good for a combined 19 points to spur those fourth-quarter
comebacks on to victory. At month's end, Zalgiris had a 5-1 record and
was tied for the league lead despite having traveled more than 15,000
kilometers round trip. All those hours in transit didn't affect
Grigonis during all his time on court helping Zalgiris to its longest
road winning streak this century – which is also the stuff that MVPs of
the Month are made of. Read more here.
October 31, 2020 - Co-MVPs of the Week: Nikola Mirotic and Marius Grigonis
Two
players who have led their teams 5-1 records atop the Turkish Airlines
EuroLeague standings, Marius Grigonis of Zalgiris Kaunas and Nikola
Mirotic of FC Barcelona, are sharing the MVP honor for this week after
each posted a performance index rating of 27. Mirotic earned weekly MVP
honors for the sixth time in his EuroLeague career. Grigonis reached
this award for the first time, and is the first Lithuanian player so
honored since Edgaras Ulanovas of Zalgiris in Game 4 of the 2018
playoffs. Mirotic returned to action after a spell on the sidelines by
coming came off the bench to for 18 points on 7-for-10 two-point
shooting, adding 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and the game-sealing
block in Barcelona's 71-72 win at TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Grigonis led Zalgiris to a 74-83 victory against LDLC ASVEL
Villeurbanne with 25 points on 6-for-8 two-point and 7-for-7 free-throw
accuracy, adding 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 fouls drawn for a PIR of
27. In that game, Moustapha Fall of ASVEL also amassed a PIR of 27 but
couldn't help his team win. Fall finished with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 4
assists, 2 steals, a block and 11 fouls drawn. Thomas Walkup of
Zalgiris (26 PIR) and Errick McCollum of Khimki Moscow Region (25)
complete the top individual performances in Round 6. Read more here.
October 28, 2020 - Round 6
The action continues with a set of enticing games in
Round 6 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, including the season’s
early pace-setters attempting to maintain their momentum against two
under-achieving giants. If you had been asked to predict which team
would be still searching for form with a 2-3 record and which would be
flying high at 3-1 ahead of CSKA Moscow’s home meeting with Valencia on
Thursday, it’s unlikely you would have picked the Russian team to be
the strugglers. Read more here.

October 24, 2020 - MVP of the Week: Nemanja Nedovic, Panathinaikos OPAP Athens
With
a huge game just when his new team needed it most, Nemanja Nedovic of
Panathinaikos OPAP Athens has earned the MVP of the Week award, the
first of his seven-season Turkish Airlines EuroLeague career. Nedovic
scored 28 points, second-best in his seven EuroLeague seasons, to lead
Panathinaikos past Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul 82-68 on Thursday. His
performance off the bench came with career highs of 7 three-pointers
made, tying the second-most ever by a Panathinaikos player, and 2
blocks, as well. The week's top performance came from Daniel Hackett of
CSKA Moscow in an 86-84 overtime loss to Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade.
Hackett's 29 points and 39 PIR, the EuroLeague's highest so far this
season, were career highs in his 197th EuroLeague game. Matching
Nedovic with a 28 PIR, but in a losing cause, was Alexey Shved of
Khimki Moscow Region, whose monster 32-point, 11-assist double-double
went for naught as visiting Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv won their game in
overtime, 87-89. Zvezda guard Jordan Loyd finished with a 25 PIR after
posting 31 points, his career high and the most in any EuroLeague game
yet this season, including the game-winner over CSKA in overtime. Read

October 21, 2020 - Round 5
One of the biggest occasions in world sport wraps up
the headline action this week in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, but
before that there will be lots more mouth-watering action to savor. The
EuroLeague's endlessly competitive nature is evident from the fact that
only one team is unbeaten through four rounds over three weeks. And
that identity of that team is a surprise, with Zalgiris Kaunas sitting
top of the pile to give new coach Martin Schiller a dream start in his
first EuroLeague season. Read more here.

and Jordan Loyd responded with a performance worth the MVP honor for
Round 2 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. Loyd matched
Zvezda's second-best scoring total ever in the club's 151 EuroLeague
games to lead Zvezda to a resounding 90-73 win over visiting TD Systems
Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Making 5 of 8 three-pointers and 9 perfect
