April 27, 2010 - Cajasol reaches playoffs 10 years later
Cajasol Seville got a decisive win (78-56) against Ayuda en Accion Fuenlabrada to finally got a post in the next ACB Playoffs after 10 years of absence. It was a hard game, specially in the first half, when Cajasol didn't seem to find their way to the basket, because of a great defense by Fuenlabrada. Moreover, Batiste seemed virtually unstoppable under the rhims, scoring every time he touched the ball.

April 27, 2010 - Final Four to feature new Player Development Clinic
Euroleague Basketball is proud to introduce a new event for the 2010 Final Four in Paris, the first ever Player Development Clinic. The Euroleague and Nike have come together to create the clinic, which will be led by Nike SPARQ (Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness) Master Basketball Trainer Christopher Thomas, founder of 100% Hoops.

April 26, 2010 - The Black and White's Tref With Four Leaves!!!
The NLB league Final Four Final in Zagreb Arena was played in front of 16.200 spectators. Cibona Zagreb and Partizan Belgrade fought for the title of the Adriatic league champions, and the thriller game brought a historic win for BC Partizan 74:75 (14:15, 17:16, 13:13, 16:16, ot 14:15).

April 25, 2010 - Partizan NLB League winner!
In one of the most amazing finishes at any level this season, Partizan won its fourth consecutive Adriatic League title by edging Cibona 74-75 in overtime in front of a sellout crowd in Zagreb, Croatia on Sunday. Dusan Kecman became the game hero with a buzzer-beating three-pointer that allowed Partizan to lift the trophy in unbelievable fashion.

April 24, 2010 - Zagreb will host the 2009 final reprise between Cibona and Partizan
Cibona became the second finalist of the 2010 NLB Final Four Tournament, held on its home court in Zagreb by defeating Union Olimpija in the second semi-final 78-73. The Croatian team will therefore meet Partizan in the big final on Sunday and will try to win its first regional league trophy, which slipped it away already last year against the same opponent in Belgrade.

April 23, 2010 - 2009-10 All-Euroleague nominees
Voting for the All-Euroleague team by fans and media members around Europe and beyond has produced a world-class list of nominees for the 2009-10 season. Tens of thousands of fans from around the world were able to cast votes for their favorite players, as did media members from each of the countries with Euroleague teams this season.

April 22, 2010 - Rising Star Trophy: Ricky Rubio, Regal FC Barcelona
One of the most precocious talents in pro basketball history, Regal FC Barcelona point guard Ricky Rubio, has been the overwhelming choice of Euroleague head coaches to receive the 2010 Rising Star Trophy. Rubio, 19, is the only player to have started all 20 Euroleague games for Barcelona, which became just the second team all decade to finish the Euroleague regular season undefeated.

One of the best defensive centers in Europe is ready to make his Euroleague debut next season, as Eurocup champion Power Electronics Valencia had announcement a new deal with big man Serhiy Lishchuk, who extended his contract for two more years, the club announced Thursday.

April 22, 2010 - 2010 Final Four referees named
A group of referees with a wealth of experience will officiate the games of the 2010 Final Four in Paris, Euroleague Basketball has announced. Among the eight referees selected – all from different countries – six have previously officiated in a continental final and three have refereed the Euroleague title game.

April 21, 2010 - Best Defender Trophy: Viktor Khryapa, CSKA Moscow
After belonging to the same player for five years, the Euroleague award for defensive excellence has a new owner as the competition's head coaches voted CSKA Moscow forward Viktor Khryapa the winner of this season's Best Defender Trophy! Khryapa convinced them with one of the most comprehensive and consistent defensive performances possible.

April 20, 2010 - Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy: Linas Kleiza, Olympiacos
A native son who returned to Europe in the prime of his career has earned the first post-season award of the 2009-10 Euroleague. Linas Kleiza of Olympiacos Piraeus is the winner of the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy, awarded annually to the Euroleague player who averages the most points over a minimum number of games prior to the Final Four.

April 20, 2010 - Base Oostende tabs Darrel Mitchell
Base Oostende completed the signing of a 26 year-old 1.81 m point guard Darrel Mitchell. The player arrives from Khimik, Ukraine. Mitchell was one of the key players for his former club. He averaged 18.3 points and 5.4 assists per game in Ukrainian league.

April 19, 2010 - Salenga signs a new deal with Zalgiris
Dainius Salenga will be playing in Kaunas for at least one more season after the 33-year-old veteran signed a 1+1-year contract extension with Zalgiris. Former Lithuania international played for Zalgiris through 2000-2005 before leaving the club for Girona.

April 19, 2010 - Matt Nielsen, MVP Eurocup Final 4
The media at the Eurocup title game voted Matt Nielsen of new champion Power Electronics Valencia the MVP for his inspiration leadership all weekend. He had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists Sunday, leading his team's record defense!

April 19, 2010 - Power Electronics Valencia lifts Eurocup in Vitoria
Power Electronics Valencia is the Eurocup champion for the second time in club history. Power Electronics became the second club to lift the Eurocup trophy twice on Sunday when it beat Alba Berlin 44-67 in the title game in Vitoria, Spain. With the victory, Valencia earned the right to play in the 2010-11 Euroleague.

The Eurocup's original champion is back on top again! In Vitoria, Spain on Sunday night Power Electronics Valencia dominated Alba Berlin 44-67 with incredible defense, just the opposite of the offensive show it put on the semifinals, to win the title and return to the Euroleague last season.

April 18, 2010 - Bizkaia Bilbao Basket, a 76-67 winner over Panellinios Opap BC
Bizkaia Bilbao Basket conquered third place in the 2009-10 Eurocup and registered its best result ever in European club competitions by downing Panellinios Opap BC 76-67 in the Third Place game in Vitoria, Spain on Sunday. Bilbao rounded a solid Eurocup season by finishing third. Despite its back-to-back losses in Vitoria, Panellinios was fourth overall in the 2009-10 Eurocup.

April 18, 2010 - Valencia, Alba reach the Eurocup final!
Power Electronics Valencia and Alba Berlin have made it to the Eurocup final! Power Electronics earned the right to fight for its second Eurocup title - its first since 2003 - by downing Panellinios OPAP BC 92-80 in the first semifinal at Fernando Buesa Arena on Saturday.

Argentina Basketball Federation president German Vaccaro is confident that his big name stars will be in Turkey for this year’s World Championships. Zeljko Obradovic decided to drop Marcus Haislip from Panathinaikos Greek A1 league roster and brought Giorgi Shermadini instead. 29-year-old Haislip was signed by The Greens in January with the hope that he could help the reigning Euroleague champions to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Sarunas Jasikevicius might eventually wear the yellow jersey next season after three years and one Euroleague title with Panathinaikos. 33-year-old Lithuanian star was always linked with Maccabi Tel Aviv ever since he left them for NBA. Though he was too expensive for the Israeli club. But now it seems to be the right moment for Maccabi to bring Saras back after his recent injuries and little playing time in Greece.

April 15, 2010 - Eurocup Finals Sunday games times change
Euroleague Basketball announces that the tip-off times of both Eurocup Finals, the Third Place Game and the Final, which will be played on Sunday, April 18 have changed. The Third Place Game will be played at 18:15 CET instead of 18:00 CET and the Final will be played at 21:00 CET instead of 20:45 CET.

April 14, 2010 - Injury bug bites Berlin before Finals
Alba Berlin arrives to the Eurocup Finals with a depleted squad after injuries have cast doubts on the participation of a number of players. Guard Julius Jenkins, big man Blagota Sekulic and swingman Derrick Byars are all question marks for Saturday's Eurocup semifinal against Bizkaia Bilbao Basket, while Jurica Golemac has yet to return to full form after missing time with an injury of his own.

April 13, 2010 - Morris Almond moves to Real Madrid
Real Madrid completed the signing of a 25-year-old American guard Morris Almond as the club prepares for ACB play-off battles. Before joining Real Almond played for Maine Red Claws in the NBDL. He averaged 26.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game this season in NBDL and that certainly helped him to catch and interest of the Spanish giants.

The Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association, and Regal FC Barcelona (FCB) and AJ Milano from Euroleague Basketball, will play a series of preseason games this October as part of NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, the NBA, the Euroleague, and EA SPORTS announced today. Barcelona, London, Milan, and Paris will host the games.

April 13, 2010 - Out of favour Kaukenas wanted by AJ Milano
Italian media reports that former Montepaschi Siena guard Rimantas Kaukenas is wanted by another Italian team Armani Jeans Milano. 33-year-old veteran was signed by Real Madrid last summer as he was a target of Ettore Messina.

April 12, 2010 - Lietuvos Rytas and Asseco Prokom to join VTB United League
The new VTB United League is expected to expand even further next season after the agreement between the league and two new teams has been reached. Lietuvos Rytas are set to become the second Lithuanian team in the league while Polish champions Asseco Prokom will become the first team from Poland.

April 12, 2010 - CSKA captain Smodis makes season debut
After sitting out seven months with back pain, CSKA Moscow captain Matjaz Smodis is back. The veteran forward shock off the rust in a 17-minute appearance on Sunday in the Russian League and is expected to be fully fit to help his team challenge for the Euroleague title at the Final Four in Paris.

April 12, 2010 - 2009-10 Eurocup MVP: Marko Banic, Bizkaia Bilbao Basket
Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that Marko Banic of Bizkaia Bilbao Basket has been chosen as the 2009-10 Eurocup MVP. In his fifth Eurocup season at age 25, Banic helped make Bilbao the only undefeated team in the regular season and the first to win its Last 16 group.

April 12, 2010 - ROAD TO PARIS: Regal FC Barcelona
Regal FC Barcelona is back in the Final Four for the 11th time in club history - an all-time record since the format was chosen back in 1988. Despite such success, however, Barcelona arrives as hungry as any team could be. So far, its record number of Final Four appearances have yielded just one Euroleague trophy, in 2003 before a home crowd.

April 11, 2010 - Panellinios forward Josh Davis returns
After a two-month absence, Panellinios forward Josh Davis returned to action on Sunday in the Greek League and will be available for the club to play at the Eurocup Finals. Davis (203, 29) was sidelined in February with a leg injury suffered in the Greek League.

April 10, 2010 - Countdown to Final Four begins in Paris
Exactly one month before a new Euroleague champion is crowned there, the French capital of Paris was the scene on Friday of a press conference to start the countdown to the 2010 Final Four. A sold-out crowd of 15,700 of the Euroleague's uniquely devoted fans are guaranteed to make Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy, the host venue, the focal point of world basketball from May 7 to May 9.

April 9, 2010 - ROAD TO PARIS: Partizan
Riding a wave of fanatic fans who epitomize what makes European basketball unique, Partizan Belgrade has made it to a Final Four for the first time since 1998. Great work over a several years paid off this season with the club's third consecutive Quarterfinal Playoffs berth, and this time Partizan made the most of the opportunity. Although Partizan heads to Paris as an underdog, it is also the only Final Four team to have beaten two of the other semifinalists.

April 9, 2010 - ROAD TO PARIS: CSKA Moscow
If there is a team that has proven non-believers wrong this season, that has to be Euroleague powerhouse CSKA Moscow, which has risen above a raft of changes to make its eighth consecutive Final Four. Only Varese of Italy, which made it to every title game in the 1970s, has a bigger run to the European semifinals than CSKA's current Final Four streak.

Olympiacos arrives to its second consecutive Final Four and has the chance to win its first Euroleague title since 1997. The Reds matched their high expectations this season by playing attractive, fun-to-watch basketball. April 9, 2010 - 2009-10 All-Eurocup first, second teams announced
Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce the members of the All-Eurocup first and second teams for the 2009-10 season. Big men Marko Banic of Bizkaia Bilbao Basket and Matt Nielsen of Power Electronics Valencia headline the list of All-Eurocup First Team selections as the only honorees to repeat from last season.

Euroleague Basketball is pleased to announce that Ilias Zouros of Panellinios BC, who took his team from the Qualifying Round to the Eurocup Finals, has been chosen as the 2009-10 Eurocup Coach of the Year. In his third season on the Panellinios bench, Zouros has led the club to new heights as it aims for a first continental crown at the Eurocup Finals in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain on April 17 and 18.

April 8, 2010 - Eurocup Finals referees, commissioners announced
Some of European basketball’s most experienced officials will work the games of the 2010 Eurocup Finals in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain on April 17 and 18. The list of referees and commissioners for those games has been released by the organization and features a mix of experience and youth.

April 7, 2010 - Coach K and Duke Win at NCAA Finals
The Chicago native son coached an Olympic Gold Medal team. Mike Krzyzewski has already has been inducted into the National Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame. Now he won his fourth NCAA title. In one of the best television games of all time, Duke edged Butler, 61-59.  Butler had won 25 straight before entering the NCAA men’s championship final in Indianapolis.

April 7, 2010 - 2009-10 Eurocup Rising Star Trophy Victor Claver, Power Electronics Valencia
With a unique mix of athleticism, talent and basketball IQ, a young gold medalist from last summer's EuroBasket 2009 now has helped lift his club team into the Eurocup Finals. For his solid contribution to making that happen and his impact on Eurocup courts around the continent, forward Victor Claver of Power Electronics Valencia has been chosen by Euroleague Basketball as the Eurocup Rising Star Trophy winner for 2009-10.

April 6, 2010 - Eurocup Finals; semifinals at a glance: Power Electronics vs. Panellinios BC

According to Serbian media, Partizan is close to getting an A-license for partitipation in the Euroleague, which would guarantee their presence in the continent's top competition for the next three years, regardless the results in domestic competitions (given of course the club won't be relegated).

Lebron James said that he’s “probably not playing” for Team USA this summer in Turkey. The reigning NBA MVP has a hectic summer schedule, and on the top of his ‘to-do list’ is sort out his future in the league, as James will be a free agent this summer. “I got a really, really, really, really, really busy summer,” he said. “I would love if I had the opportunity and the time to play to represent my country and go out there and do that. But there's a lot of things I need to take care of first.”

April 2, 2010 - A dream comes true for Partizan
More than 21,000 fans filled Belgrade Arena to see their beloved team's attempt to reach the Final Four for the first time in twelve years. And they weren't disappointed. Unlike the third game of the series, Maccabi was always close to their opponents and they had the lead quite often.

April 2, 2010 - CSKA Moscow do it once again
Despite losing a significant part of the budget as well as coach Ettore Messina, CSKA Moscow will be playing in the Final Four once again. Russian giants managed to lose game three in Vitoria after two convincing games in Moscow though they were not going to let the series extend to five games.

April 2, 2010 - Olympiacos get the job done in Gdynia
Euroleague quarter-final debutants and Polish champions Asseco Prokom managed  to upset Olympiacos in game three of the series but  Greek giants were better prepared for the fourth game as they took a rather easy win. Josh Childress had 22 points for The Reds while Asseco Prokom were led by the usual suspects - David Logan and Qyntel Woods as they scored 18 and 16 points respectively.

April 2, 2010 - Barca win in Madrid to reach the Final Four
As it was expected by many, the best team of regular season, Regal FC Barcelona, qualified for the Final Four in Paris after winning El Clasico against their arch rivals Real Madrid. Even though Messina's team managed to take one win in Barcelona they were unable to win at least once at home in order to bring the series to five games.

April 2, 2010 - EuroLeague Playoffs, Game 4 MVP: Fernando San Emeterio, Caja Laboral
Despite its exit in Game 4 of the Quarterfinal Playoffs, a Caja Laboral player earned a final individual honor for the 2009-10 Euroleague season as shooting guard Fernando San Emeterio registered the best individual performance on Thursday with an index rating of 30.

April 2, 2010 - EuroCup Quarterfinals Game 2 MVP: Matt Nielsen, Power Electronics Valencia
If there is a player that has dominated a 2009-10 Eurocup Quarterfinals series, that has to be Matt Nielsen of Power Electronics Valencia. Not only Valencia was the only team able to sweep both games, but Nielsen is the Eurocup weekly MVP for the second consecutive week.

April 1, 2010 - EuroLeague Game Center: Playoffs, Game 4
The 2010 Final Four is full! On a Thursday that will go down in history, three road warriors - Barcelona, Olympiacos and CSKA - returned to the semifinals. Then, with its 20,000-plus friends roaring their approval, Partizan stopped Maccabi 76-66 behind 19 points from Bo McCalebb to make its first Final Four since 1998. The semifinals on May 7 in Paris will be Barcelona-CSKA and Olympiacos-Partizan!
