April 30, 2012 - Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv won the 2012 ABA League title!
With almost 11.000 fans on its side Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv dominated the 2012 ABA League final against Cedevita 87-77 and became the champion of the regional league in its eleventh edition. Maccabi is the sixth club since the opening year in ABA League, which won the prestigious title. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - Barcelona keeps cruising through ACB
Two game rounds were played in Liga Endesa ACB this week. In the two games, Barcelona kept their winning streak up to 8 games, confirming their good shape. The Catalans did not only blow out Lucentum Alicante 83-57, but also beat Caja Laboral 97-89 that ended up being one of the most exciting games of the season, with Juan Carlos Navarro playing at his best level: 31 points and 10 assists which meant 54 points generated by him, and Maciej Lampe scoring other 31 for the Basque team. April 30, 2012 - Hernandez staying in Krakow for a fourth term
Wisla Can-Pack Krakow coach Jose Hernandez has signed an extension following his side's successful double-winning season in the Polish Women's League. According to Polish outlet Wislakosz.pl, his contract has been extended to one year. The club are happy with the targets that have been reached this season. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - BEKO BBL announces record attendance
For the first time in the history of the German league, more than 4.000 people per game attended BEKO BBL games. 1.322.605 people attended the 306 games of the BBL's regular season for an average of 4.322. The average grew 13.35% in comparison to last season's attendance of 3.813. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - Brooklyn Nets logo revealed
Since 1977 the New Jersey Nets have been a household name in the NBA but New York's neighbour has now been left with a franchise. Instead New York has gained another team, like Los Angeles and the Brooklyn Nets will be playing out of the newly-constructed Barclays Center from next season. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - Smith leads Hawks past Celtics 83-74; Rondo tossed
The Boston Celtics lost Game 1 - and they may have lost their floor leader for Game 2. Josh Smith scored 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds as the Atlanta Hawks built a big lead early, then held on for an 83-74 victory over the Celtics in their opener of the Eastern Conference playoffs Sunday night. April 30, 2012 - Clippers rally from 27 down, stun Grizzlies 99-98
Chris Paul begged coach Vinny Del Negro to put him back into the game for the fourth quarter and not give up despite being down 21 points. The result was another Clippers comeback - one of the greatest in NBA playoff history. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - Mensah-Bonsu, Mr Double-Double, Is MVP
Besiktas power forward/center Pops Mensah-Bonsu was named as the EuroChallenge Final Four MVP by the media professionals covering the event. While the Great Britain international and his Serbian teammate Zoran Erceg were both delivering an enormous performance on the floor to guide their team to victory over Elan Chalon in the title game, they were also, inadvertently, locked in a fierce battle against each other in the race to earn MVP honours. April 30, 2012 - Besiktas Bring The Cup To Turkey
Turkey has waited a long time for a European trophy to come home. Besiktas Milangaz ended that drought, emerging on top in a pulsating EuroChallenge final to defeat Elan Chalon 91-86 in Debrecen. Pops Mensah-Bonsu had 26 points and 20 rebounds and was named as the game's Most Valuable Player but it was a collective effort. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - German League, Regular Season, Game 34
Brose Baskets Bamberg finished a dominant German League regular season with a resounding 102-65 victory over BBC Beyreuth for a 30-4 record. The best-of-five quarterfinals will start on May 3 with the following matchups: Brose Baskets vs. Telekom Baskets Bonn; ratiopharm Ulm vs. NY Phantoms Braunschweig; Alba vs. s. April 30, 2012 - Adriatic League final four, semifinals
Maccabi Electra and Cedevita Zagreb will meet in the 2012 Adriatic League title game on Monday after respective double-digit victories in Saturday’s semifinals at Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv. Maccabi routed Buducnost Voli 82-60, while Cedevita stopped Partizan mt:s 68-56. Read more here.

April 30, 2012 - Russian League playoffs, Semifinals Game 2
CSKA Moscow secured its place in the Russian League finals by sweeping Lokomotiv Kuban 2-0 in the best-of-three series. Nenad Krstic scored 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for CSKA, which will await the outcome of the other series between BC Khimki and Triumph to learn its opponent in the finals. Read more here.

April 29, 2012 - Triumph Stun Hosts To Claim Third Place
Triumph Lyubersty outgunned EuroChallenge Final Four hosts Szolnoki Olaj 94-87, to deny them third place at the season-ending tournament. The Russian side that came to the Final Four party almost uninvited, a team that was all but eliminated from contention after the first three games of the Last 16, saved their biggest surprise of the season for last. April 29, 2012 - Wisla Bring Out The Brooms
CCC Polkowice had to win a dramatic fifth game against Lotos Gdynia to reach the Polish league finals but they'll need to do something even more special to lift the title. Wisla Can-Pack Krakow have won the first two games of their showdown and need two more wins to complete a successful PLKK championship defense. Read more here.

April 29, 2012 - Season over for Rose
Derrick Rose has been ruled out for the remainder of the play-offs after sustaining an injury during his team's win over Hawks. More specifically Rose has torn his anterior cruciate ligament, as confirmed by the Chicago Bulls official twitter feed just moments ago. Read more here.

April 29, 2012 - Chalon comfortable against Triumph
Elan Chalon will face-off against Besiktas in the 2012 Eurochallenge finale, after they swept aside Triumph Lyubertsy Moscow 84-69. It was a confident and professional display from Chalon, who were led by the tremendous Blake Schlib, who led all scorers with 29 points on 11/15 shooting, including a perfect 5/5 from behind the arc. April 29, 2012 - Besiktas edge Szolnoki in physical battle
Favourites Besiktas are through to the Eurochallenge final after defeating hosts Szolnoki Olaj 64-60. This wasn't a classic by any means but the key stat was a rebounding score of 50-39 in Besiktas' favour, that included 22 offensive boards as Szolnoki had no answer their opponents' bigs, in particular Great Britain player Pops Mensah-Bonsu, who got a 13 point, 13 rebound double-double. April 29, 2012 - FYR of Macedonia squad named for Qualifiers
FYR of Macedonia coach Marjan Lazovski has named a 28-man preliminary squad for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be held in Venezuela. A shock fourth place finish, including a quarter-final victory over hosts Lithuania at Eurobasket last year secured hopes of a first ever Olympic appearance. Read more here.

Maccabi looked like a rolling stone in the second semi-final game of the 2012 ABA league Final Four Tournament and defeated Buducnost Voli 82-60 for its second final in the refional league. Read more here.

April 29, 2012 - Cedevita reached the final in its first F4
Cedevita, the youngest among Croatian clubs, did the first step in fulfiling its goals on Saturday by defeating Partizan mt:s 68-56 in the first semi-final game of the 2012 ABA League Final Four Tournament in Tel Aviv, Isreal. Read more here.

In its last official game before the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, Olympiacos Piraeus blasted Panionios 66-87 on the road Saturday to sweep their best-of-five semifinal and make it to the Greek League finals for a seventh straight season. Read more here.

April 28, 2012 - Cedevita Wins over Partizan mt:s and qualified to ABA Adriatic Final
In first semifinal game of ABA Adriatic league Final 4 today Cedevita Zagreb topped Partizan mt:s and qualify to Final game which will be played at Monday. Final score 68:56 (14:15, 20:17, 17:14, 17:10).

FC Barcelona Regal rode a brilliant Juan Carlos Navarro and held on in the closing minutes to beat Caja Laboral 97-89 and protect its lead atop the Spanish League standings. April 27, 2012 - Slovenian League, Regular Season, Phase 2 Game 9
Union Olimpija toppled Sentjur 65-80 to remain tied atop the Slovenian League with Krka, which squeaked past Helios Domzale 77-76. The winners advanced to 7-2, while Helios fell out of a three-way tie for first, slipping to 6-3. Read more here.

French League leader BCM Gravelines Dunkerque and closest rival Chalon both won, but third-ranked of Orleans fell to Nanterre, allowing the top two teams to open up more daylight between them and the rest of the pack. FC Barcelona Regal crushed fellow Euroleague side Unicaja 57-89 to remain atop the Spanish League with a two-win cushion over victorious Real Madrid, which recovered from a 19-point deficit to beat crosstown rival Asefa Estudiantes 85-80. With the playoffs a week away, Dwyane Wade left the Miami Heat arena Saturday night with his swollen finger in a splint - and considered himself lucky. April 22, 2012 - Deng leads Bulls over Mavericks 93-83
Derrick Rose could feel some pain in the area of his right ankle and foot, the site of his most recent injury during a season in which he has missed 26 games. It was OK, though. All worth it. April 17, 2012 - Montepaschi Siena's Bo McCalebb wins the Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy
The 2012 Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy has been won by Bo McCalebb of Montepaschi Siena, the first point guard to win the award. The Top Scorer Trophy is the first Turkish Airlines Euroleague post-season award, given annually to the Euroleague player with the most points averaged over a minimum number of games. April 16, 2012 - Partizan 1992 - An utterly unique title
In the 53 years of European finals, be it the European Cup or Euroleague, there have been plenty of interesting, dramatic and even controversial games. But the title won by Partizan Belgrade at the 1992 Final Four in Istanbul, which is also the host city of the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, holds a privileged spot, and not only because of the famous three-pointer by Sasha Djordjevic that gave his team the title over Joventut Badalona of Spain. On Sunday in between the third-place and championship games at the Eurocup Finals in Khimki, Russia, the members of the All-Eurocup First Team were honored on the court. Euroleague Basketball and the United League have agreed to the principles of an agreement to integrate the United League into the Euroleague Basketball competition structure. April 15, 2012 - Eurocup Finals, third-place game, Lietuvos Rytas 71 - 62 Spartak St. Petersburg
Lietuvos Rytas led from start to finish in beating Spartak St. Petersburg 71-62 to finish the 2011-12 Eurocup season in third place. Ronnie Seibutis scored 21 and Jonas Valanciunas posted a double-double as Rytas controlled the paint and outrebounded Spartak 38-25. Read more here.

April 14, 2012 - Eurocup Finals, semifinal Game 2, BC Khimki 77 - 73 Spartak St. Petersburg
B.C. Khimki Moscow Region has made it to the Eurocup finals! Khimki managed to make it to the title game for the second time in club history by edging Spartak St. Petersburg 77-73 in the second semifinal on Saturday night. Valencia Basket has reached the Eurocup title game! Valencia became the first team to advance to the Eurocup final by downing Lietuvos Rytas 80-70 in the first semifinal in Khimki, Russia on Saturday. Trefl Sopot handily beat PGE Turow 89-74 to maintain its lead atop the Polish League standings, while Asseco Prokom Gdynia edged Energa Czarni Slupsk 73-76 to remain in second place. Czech League leader CEZ Nymburk needed overtime to beat BK JIP Pardubice, but outscored the opponent 18-4 in the extra session to take a decisive 91-77 victory, raising its record to 33-2. Cibona Zagreb remains unbeaten atop the Croatian League table with 6-0 record after downing KK Split 92-75.
