Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv announced Tuesday that favorite son Lior Eliyahu is returning to wear blue and yellow for the next five seasons. Eliyahu (206, 25) arrives from Caja Laboral, with whom he won the Spanish League last season. Before that he played three seasons with Maccabi.

August 31, 2010 - Hapoel completes roster with Williams
Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem completed its roster for the upcoming season by inking big man Sean Williams to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Williams (208, 24) is set to make his European basketball debut with Hapoel, as he spent his career in the United States, China and Puerto Rico before agreeing to a deal with the Israeli powerhouse.

August 29, 2010 - MACCABI ELECTRA keeps Doron Perkins
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv and playmaker Doron Perkins reached a new agreement to stay together next season, the club announced Sunday. Maccabi keeps an option to extend the deal until the end of the 2011-12 season. Perkins (189, 27) arrived to Maccabi last season, in which he averaged 9.2 points, 5 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 20 Euroleague games last season, helping the team to reach the Quarterfinal Playoffs.

August 29, 2010 - Budivelnik inks Billy Keys, Andy Betts
Budivelnik got stronger for its upcoming debut in the Euroleague Qualifying Round by inking playmaker Billy Keys and center Andy Betts to respective one-year deals. Keys (188, 32) arrives from Maroussi, that faces Budivelnik in the first qualifying round on September 21-24. He averaged 9.9 points and 2.6 assists in 16 Euroleague games last season, helping Maroussi to go all the way from the Qualifying Round to the Top 16.

August 29, 2010 - VIRTUS ROMA gets former scoring champ Smith
Virtus Roma brought some serious scoring punch to its backcourt by signing veteran swingman Charles Smith for the coming season. Smith (193, 35) arrives from Turkish side Efes Pilsen, where he has spent the past two seasons. He was the first winner of Euroleague Basketball's Alphonso Ford Top Scorer Trophy in 2005, when he averaged 20.6 points per game for Scavolini Pesaro.

Union Olimpija kept getting ready for the upcoming Euroleague season by inking top prospect Sasu Salin to a three-year deal, the club announced Friday. Salin (190, 19) arrives from Honka Espoo Playboys, where he averaged 9.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in 48 Finnish League games last season.

August 27, 2010 - ZALGIRIS & playmaker Collins reunite
Zalgiris Kaunas and former Euroleague assists king DeJuan Collins are together again after the club announced a one-year deal on Thursday. Collins (188, 33) led the Euroleague in assists with 5.3 per game during the 2007-08 season. He spent a season-and-a-half with Zalgiris, arriving in January 2007 and helping the team win back-to-back Lithuanian League and Cup doubles.

August 26, 2010 - Aris BSA tabs Tucker at forward
Aris BSA 2003 and forward P.J. Tucker put pen to paper on a two-year deal Thursday, 24 hours after the club publicly announced the agreement between them. Tucker (198, 25) arrives from Israeli club Bnei Hasharon, where he averaged 17.3 points and 9 rebounds over 12 games after joining the club midway through the season.

August 26, 2010 - MACCABI ELECTRA signs point guard Pargo
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv shored up its backcourt on Thursday by signing point guard Jeremy Pargo, who arrives from Israeli League rival Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon. Pargo (188, 24) was a major reason Galil bested Maccabi in the Israeli League title game last season.

August 26, 2010 - Maroussi inks big man Askrabic
Maroussi BC announced on Thursday the signing of big man Ognjen Askrabic to a one-year deal. Askrabic (207, 31) arrives from Ukrainian club BC Donetsk, where he averaged 6.7 points and 5.3 rebounds last season. Askrabic hopes to make his return to the Euroleague with Maroussi for the first time since he played for Lottomatica Roma in the 2006-07 season.

August 26, 2010 - Partizan tabs veteran guard Popovic
Euroleague semifinalist and Serbian champion Partizan m:ts signed veteran guard Bojan Popovic to a one-year deal. Popovic (190, 27) split last season between Lietuvos Rytas and Efes Pilsen. He ranked first in steals, with 2.4 per game, and third in assists, 5.4 on average, in the Euroleague regular season regular season with L. Rytas.

August 25, 2010 - ASSECO PROKOM picks up Wilks, Brown
Asseco Prokom Gdynia shored up its backcourt on Wednesday by signing two premier perimeter players: point guard Mike Wilks and swingman Denham Brown. Wilks (178, 31) is an experienced playmaker, who has spent most of his career in the NBA.

August 25, 2010 - Spirou Charleroi re-signs Wright
Spirou Charleroi re-signed forward Brent Wright, who joined the club towards the end of last season and helped it win the Belgian championship. Wright (203, 32) averaged 10.3 points and 4 rebounds for Spirou last year in the regular season and playoffs combined.

August 25, 2010 - 20 Euroleague Basketball referees working World Championships
Euroleague Basketball is pleased to report that 20 of its referees have been selected to officiate the games of the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey. In addition, the Euroleague's Director of Referees, Costas Rigas, will serve as the Referee Supervisor for the Group B first round games to be held in Istanbul.

August 25, 2010 - Union Olimpija brings in Jagodnik
Union Olimpija announced on Wednesday the addition of veteran forward Goran Jagodnik (203, 36) for the 2010-11 season. Jagodnik arrives from KK Hemofarm of Serbia where last season he averaged 12.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in over 6 Eurocup games.

Olympiacos BC have announced the signing of Jamon Lucas for the next season. Lucas has been nothing less that impressive last year, playing for Maroussi, having outstanding performance both in Greek A1 and Euroleague.

August 25, 2010 - Busy PAOK pens deal with Marshall
PAOK Thessaloniki BC continued a busy period of roster building with the signing of small forward Rawle Marshall, who arrives from French side Asvel Basket. Marshall (201, 28) signed for one season with PAOK. He averaged 11.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in six Euroleague games last year after joining Asvel midway through the season.

August 25, 2010 - Alba Berlin adds Taylor to backcourt
Alba Berlin bolstered its backcourt Tuesday with the signing of swingman Bryce Taylor, who arrives from fellow German side Telekom Bonn. Taylor (195, 23) signed a one-year contract, though Berlin has an opt-out option after two months. Taylor led Bonn in scoring in the Eurocup last season with 18.5 points per game plus 3.3 rebounds per game.

August 25, 2010 - Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon signs Carter
Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon reinforced its front line with the addition of Warren Carter for the coming season. Carter (206, 25) arrives from Ilyasikos Athens, where he posted 12.9 points and 7 rebounds in the Greek League last year.

Even though the summer is nearly over, it is still not clear where Sarunas Jasikevicius will be playing next season. The 34-year-old veteran point guard is not in the plans of Panathinaikos head coach Zeljko Obradovic who decided not to keep the player in the team.

Veteran Olympiacos forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos will miss the start of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague season after choosing to undergo surgery for a back problem that has hindered him over the past two seasons.

August 24, 2010 - CHOLET BASKET completes roster with Nelson
French champion Cholet Basket completed its roster for the coming Turkish Airlines Euroleague season with the signing of swingman DeMarcus Nelson, who arrives from Italian side Air Avellino. Nelson (193, 25) averaged 9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for Avellino last season, his first full campaign in Europe.

August 24, 2010 - EWE BASKETS signs rookie Muonelo
EWE Baskets Oldenburg completed its roster for the new season Monday by signing rookie swingman Obi Muonelo. The club also indicated that Josh Carter will not continue. Muonelo (196, 22) signed a one-year deal with an option for the 2011-12 season.

VEF Riga signed veteran guard Kristaps Janicenoks for the coming season. Janicenoks (195, 27) returns to play in his native Latvia for the first time since 2003. He arrives from Umana Venezia, where he averaged 14.5 points and 3.4 rebounds in the Italian second division last season.

August 22, 2010 - Maccabi prospect collapses
Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball extends its sincere best wishes for a speedy recovery to Mikhail Torrance, a Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv prospect who was hospitalized over the weekend. Torrance collapsed while training in Bradenton, Florida near his home state of Alabama, USA. He was expected to travel soon to Tel Aviv to fulfill a contract agreed to with Maccabi Electra last month.

EWE Baskets Oldenburg signed playmaker Nemanja Protic, the club announced Thursday. The deal is for one season with an option for a second, however it is not guaranteed until the player has spent 10 days with the team.

August 20, 2010 - PAOK keeps Papadopoulos
PAOK BC and center Lazaros Papadopoulos will stay together for one more season, as the club confirmed on Wednesday night. Papadopoulos (213, 30) returned last season in Greece after five years abroad and averaged 10.8 points, 7.5 boards and 2 assists in 22 games of the Greek League.

FIBA unconditionally condemns the violence that occurred during the Final of the Acropolis tournament between Greece and Serbia that was played in Athens, Greece last night. Such scenes involving players on a basketball court are entirely unacceptable, especially as players are seen as important role models for young fans. They are also ambassadors for basketball on the global stage and they should always be seen to act as such.

August 20, 2010 - Acropolis Cup Day 3: Unbeliavable fight in Serbia-Greece and Slovenia cruises past Canada
In the third and final day of the Acropolis tournament Slovenia recorded their first win beating Canada comfortably while the game between the Serbs and the Greeks never ended due to Ivkovic, Teodosic and Krstic.

Cholet Basket reinforced its roster for the 2010-11 Euroleague regular season by announcing guard Vule Avdalovic (189, 29) for the next campaign. Avdalovic arrives from Lucentum Alicante of the Spanish League, where last season he averaged 7.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in over 34 games.

Belgian champs Spirou Basket Charleroi announced that, pending medical exams, guard Joseph Gomis (180, 32) will sign a one-year deal with the team. Gomis arrives from Unicaja of Spain where last season he missed a big part of the season due to a serious injury in his Achilles' Tendon and was replaced in the team by Pooh Jeter.

After loosing Alex Maric to Panathinaikos, Partizan has found repacement in Nathan Jawai, 24 year old Australian who comes to Belgrade after 2 seasons of attepmpting to prove himself in NBA league. This is news which was eagerly expected by Partizan fans since they lost 3 big men this summer.

August 17, 2010 - Lukoil Academic lands Banev, Bowman
Bulgarian power Lukoil Academic rebuilt its frontcourt Tuesday by signing center Tencho Banev and power forward Brandon Bowman. Banev (210, 30) returns to his boyhood club after a season in Cyprus with Apollon Limassol. The big man has played most of his career with Lukoil, having taken part in three Eurocup campaigns.

August 17, 2010 - Maroussi BC also brings in Sarikopoulos
Busy Maroussi BC announced Tuesday the signing of a three-year deal of young prospect Zissis Sarikopoulos, who returns to Greece to play professional basketball after three years he spent in the NCAA, first with Alabama – Birmingham and then with Ohio State.

August 17, 2010 - Dynamo keeps Domani one more year
Dynamo Moscow captain Dmitry Domani (200, 36), announced on Tuesday that he will stay with the team for another season. Last year, Domani averaged 3.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists in six Eurocup games with Dynamo.

FC Bayern might have been impressive so far in the summer transfer market but few expected that they could sign the starting PG of Germany NT. Yet the Bavarian club did it in style, for the next three seasons. Hamann is not only the starting point guard of the Germany NT but also its captain, in the absence of great Dirk Nowitzki, of course. He is the second internaitonal German to join the club after Demond Greene.

Lottomatica Roma overhauled its frontcourt on Monday, agreeing to re-sign center Josh Heytvelt and releasing power forward Andre Hutson. Heytvelt (210, 24) joined Roma at the end of last season to help the team in the Italian League playoffs. He took part in two playoff games for Roma before the season ended, but impressed enough for the team to re-sign him for this season.

FIBA EuroChallenge champs BG Goettingen announced the contract extension of defensive ace John Little (180, 26) for the next season. In 37 German League games last season, Little averaged 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

August 16, 2010 - AJ MILANO nabs Pecherov
AJ Milano confirmed on Monday the addition of power forward Oleksiy Pecherov (213, 25) for the next season. Pecherov arrives from the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA, where he averaged 4.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 45 appearances last season.

August 16, 2010 - Buducnost m:tel inks veteran scorer Kadziulis
Montenegrin champion Buducnost m:tel finalized its roster over the weekend with the signing of shooting guard Gintaras Kadziulis. The experienced scorer arrives from Polish side Trefl Sopot, where he averaged 11 points on 44.9% three-point shooting, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game last season.

L'Entente Orleanaise Loiret bolstered its backcourt over the weekend by signing guard Troy Bell. The veteran guard has spent the last few seasons in Italy. Last season he was among the top scorers in the Italian League with 15.3 points in addition to 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.9 assists for Vanoli Cremona.

Maroussi did the surprise and under total secrecy managed to sign and announce American combo guard Dewarick Spencer for the next two seasons. Spencer had proposals from France and Germany, but in the end chose Maroussi due to its participation in Euroleague and the chance to play in a top-notch league like Greek A1.

BC Siauliai signed rookie guard Ricky Harris to his first professional contract over the weekend. Harris (187, 23) comes from the University of Massachusetts, where he led the Atlantic 10 Conference with 19.8 points per game last season.

August 14, 2010 - Olimpija confirm Zdovc as next season coach
Jure Zdovc stays as head coach of Union Olimpija. The management board of the club confirmed Zdovc as head coach also for the upcoming 2010/2011 season. Union Olimpija also added two new assistant coaches - Miro Alilović and Andrej Žakelj.

Perennial Polish champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia retained another key piece from last season’s squad by re-signing big man Jan-Hendrik Jagla for another season. Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce that CSKA Moscow, as part of their preseason tour in the United States in October, will play a third friendly game, this time against the Miami Heat on October 12. This season marks the first time the Heat will host an international exhibition game at American Airlines Arena.

Lukoil Academic announced on Thursday three roster moves in order to start the season with the Eurocup Qualifying Round. There are two newcomers to the team, guard Dominic James (180,24) and forward Damjan Stojanovski (197,23), while forward Veselin Veselinov (201,27) agreed to a one-year contract extension with the club.

Reigning Eurocup champs Power Electronics Valencia announced on Friday the addition of two new players to complete the 2010-11 season roster. The new arrivals are shooting guard Kennedy Winston (198, 26) and young forward Marc Fernandez (203, 23).

August 13, 2010 - Budivelnik lands Morley, Wilson
Budivelnik is getting ready for the Euroleague Qualifying Rounds as on Thursday the team announced two new players, forwards Zach Morley (203, 27) and Lamayne Wilson (293, 30). Morley arrives from Burgos of the Spanish second division where last season he played 47 games averaging 14.9 points and 5.9 rebounds.

Today the meeting of League's Board took place in Moscow. Final number of participants and system of competition was determined on it.Twelve teams were allowed to join the league. Polish Champs will play in group B.

August 12, 2010 - PAOK nabs combo-guard Gray
PAOK BC announced on Thursday that it has signed guard Justin Gray on a one-year deal. Gray (194, 26) arrives from Polish team PGE Turow Zgorzelec, where he averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 boards and 4.3 assists in the Eurocup last season.

August 12, 2010 - Bullock will play for Cajasol
Louis Bullock (1'85, 1976) will play next season in Seville. Cajasol signed a one year deal with the former starting shooting guard of Real Madrid. After Unicaja and Madrid, this will be the third team he plays for in Spain. Last year he averaged 10 ppg and 1'5 apg in 19'5 minutes every night.

As announced by the club on Thursday, veteran big man Robert Archibald (209, 30) will stay in Unicaja for one more season. Last season, Archibald helped Unicaja with his averages of 9.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 14 Euroleague games. This will be the third straight season of Archibald in Malaga.

August 12, 2010 - REGAL FCB extends Basile
Reigning Euroleague champion Regal FC Barcelona reached a new agreement with veteran bomber Gianluca Basile to extend his contract until the end of the 2010-11 season, the club announced Thursday. Basile (192, 35) averaged 4.2 points in 17 Euroleague games last season, helping Barcelona to lift the trophy. In his five seasons with Barcelona, Basile also helped the club to win the Spanish League title in 2009 and lift the Spanish King's Cup trophies in 2007 and 2010.

August 12, 2010 - Hemofarm brings guard Abdul-Hamid
American guard Mustafa Abdul-Hamid (190, 22) will help Hemofarm Stada in the Euroleague Qualifying Rounds and next season in the Adriatic and Serbian Leagues as the club announced his signing on Thursday. Abdul-Hamid spent last season at UCLA in the NCAA league, where he averaged 8 minutes and 2.1 points per game.

Brose Baskets Bamberg closed the roster for the 2010-11 season on Thursday with the addition of forward Reyshawn Terry (203, 26) for one season, the club announced. Terry arrives from the Spanish League where last season he played for Xacobeo Blu:Sens. He averaged 12.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 steals in 34 games.

2009-10 Euroleague runners-up Olympiacos Piraeus keeps making signings to strengthen even more its roster. The new face, announced on Wednesday, is young small forward Marko Keselj (208, 23), who has signed a three-year deal with the Reds.

Lithuanian champs Lietuvos Rytas announced on Thursday the addition of young guard Dovydas Redikas (193, 18) to a multiyear deal. Redikas arrives from KK Akademija Vlinius of the Lithuanian second division where last season he averaged 14.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals in over 29 games.

August 11, 2010 - A big day for Slovenian basketball
Ljubljana was one of the sports capitals of Europe on Wednesday. The Slovenian capital officially opened the new and modern Stozice Arena, which definitely belongs among the greatest arenas in Europe, with a capitacy for 12,550 fans. The opening game was played between the Slovenian National Team and the Spanish National Team, current World and European Champion, on Tuesday.

Israeli champion Hapoel Gilboa/Galil Elyon re-signed Gal Mekel for a third season with the club. Mekel (195, 22) will try to continue the great success the team has had in his two years there. Mekel posted 7.9 points and 4 assists per game last season when Galil won the championship.

Zalgiris Kaunas signed promising Latvian playmaker Kaspars Vecvagars to a multi-year deal on Wednesday. The deal is for three seasons, but Zalgiris has options that could keep him in green through 2015. Vecvagars (190, 17) comes off a breakout summer in which he helped the Latvian national team to a bronze medal at the European Under-18 Championships in Lithuania.

August 10, 2010 - Maroussi nabs Diarra at forward
Maroussi BC has announced small forward Mamoutou Diarra as its first senior signing for the new season. Diarra (200, 30) arrives from Chorale Roanne in his native France, where he averaged 7.2 points and 3.2 boards in the French League last season.

Pepsi Caserta completed its roster and further fortified its frontcourt by signing well-traveled center Olumide Oyedeji for the coming season. Oyedeji (208, 29) played last season for ASU Club in Jordan and the Liaoning Dragons in China.

August 9, 2010 - Caja Laboral completes roster with Mensah-Bonsu
Caja Laboral announced late Sunday the addition to the roster of center Pops Mensah-Bonsu (206, 26) for one year and an option for another, thus completing the team for the upcoming season. Pops arrives from CSKA Moscow where last season he averaged 4.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9 Euroleague games, helping the team reach its eighth consecutive Final Four.

August 9, 2010 - Cibona welcomes Mario Delas
As announced by the teams on Monday, center Mario Delas (207, 20) was sent on loan from Zalgiris to Cibona for the next season. Delas made his Euroleague debut last season with Zalgiris as he took part in six Euroleague games averaging 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in almost 14 minutes per game.

August 6, 2010 - Lottomatica Roma extends Washington, inks Iannilli
Lottomatica Roma confirmed one extension and one arrival for the 2010-11 season, guard Darius Washington and forward Andrea Iannilli respectively. Washington (188, 24) arrived in Roma last April, and he had time to play five Italian League games with the team averaging 5.0 points and 2.4 rebounds.

One of the best young European forwards is set to make his Euroleague debut next season, as Caja Laboral inked a five-year deal with versatile talent Nemanja Bjelica on Monday. August 2, 2010 - SIAULIAI inks Edgaras Stanionis

August 1, 2010 - UNICAJA signs Uros Tripkovic
Unicaja improved its backcourt for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball season by bringing in shooting guard Uros Tripkovic, who inked an undisclosed deal with the Spanish powerhouse on Sunday. Tripkovic (197, 23) arrives from DKV Joventut, where he averaged 9.1 points on 42.9% three-pointers in 10 Eurocup games last season.
