Basket added some serious scoring punch by signing swingman Jobey
Thomas, who has been a double-digit scorer in the Euroleague. Thomas
(1.94 meters, 31 years old) is known as an elite outside shooter and is
familiar with the Italian League.
December 9, 2011 - Union Olimpija signs playmaker Mocnik again Union
Olimpija turned to former player Jan Mocnik to bolster its backcourt.
Mocnik (1.76 meters, 24 years old) agreed to terms for the remainder of
the season. The playmaker returns to Olimpija, where he spent the
2007-08 season and averaged 1.1 points and 1.3 assists as a reserve in
11 Euroleague games and 2.4 points and 1.6 assists in 20 Adriatic
League appearances.

December 8, 2011 - Motiejunas sets defensive rebounding record Donatas
Motiejunas etched his name in the Euroleague record book on Wednesday
by hauling in 18 defensive rebounds in Asseco Prokom Gdynia's 67-52
victory over Union Olimpija Ljubljana. The promising young big man more
than doubled his previous rebounding high of 10 as he posted 11 points
and 21 boards to lead the Polish champs to their first Turkish Airlines
Euroleague win of the season.

champion SLUC Nancy turned to a familiar face by signing Kenny Gregory
to shore up its hole at small forward as it tries to advance to the Top

December 7, 2011 - Siena calls on Thornton again In
the face of several recent injuries, Montepaschi Siena has reached into
its past to bring back classic swingman Bootsy Thornton for a third
stint with the club. Thornton (1.95 meters, 34 years old) made the
Final Four with Montepasch in two of his previous three seasons with
the club, including his first one, 2003-04, and his last, 2007-08.

Freen and Ben Woodside were just the start of the exodus from Union
Olimpija. The Slovenian Euroleague team faced new problems on Monday,
when Ratko Varda moved to Azovmash. Union Olimpija players may all
leave the club since they didn't receive their salaries for months,
which is also one of reasons for defeats in recent weeks.

Cantu has improved its backcourt by inking point guard Nico Gianella
until the end of the season, the club announced Monday. Gianella (1.87
meters, 33 years old) arrives from CB Granada, where he played for the
last six seasons. He averaged 9.8 points and 2.7 assists in 30 Spanish
League games last season.

powers FC Barcelona Regal and Real Madrid kept pace with each other
atop the Spanish League as both teams advanced to 9-1. Barcelona took
care of Gran Canaria 65-49 at home on Sunday afternoon in a game it led
from start to finish, while Madrid dispatched Valencia 81-64 at home on
Sunday night.

champion Montepaschi Siena survived an All-Euroleague showdown with
Bennet Cantu to maintain possession of the top spot in the Italian
League. Siena held Cantu to just 8 second-quarter points in building a
40-24 halftime advantage and holding on for a 73-64 victory.
December 4, 2011 - Caja Laboral signs Golubovic at center Caja
Laboral turned to a familiar face to help bolster its frontline by
signing center Vladimir Golubovic two a two-month contract – pending a
physical. Golubovic (2.12 meters, 25 years old) played briefly for
Laboral in the past when he signed a short-term deal in February 2010
to help the club when it faced injury problems.
December 4, 2011 - Adriatic League, Regular Season, Game 10 Maccabi
Electra kept its grip on first place in the Adriatic League with a
tightly fought road win over Crvena Zvezda 76-83 on Saturday night to
remain unbeaten at 9-0. Maccabi went infront 17-25 in the opening
quarter, but the hosts battled hard, won the second quarter and tied
the fourth to keep things close.
December 4, 2011 - Montepaschi loses Lavrinovic, too For
the second time in a week, Montepaschi Siena has announced that one of
its Lithuanian stars, center Ksistof Lavrinovic in this instance, will
need surgery that will keep him off the court indefinitely. Lavrinovic
(2.12 meters, 32 years old) missed the team's last Turkish Airlines
Euroleague game, a victory over Union Olimpija in Slovenia, due to back
problems.
December 4, 2011 - Third loss for Partizan mt:s in ABA Adriatic league In
fantastic atmosphere in Moraca hall in Podgorica, Montenegro, Buducnost
beat Partizan mts: in Game 10 of ABA Adriatic league. Can’t remember
that Moraca hall was so crowded like today. Domestic fans, but at same
time a lot of Partizan mt:s fans as well, created fantastic atmosphere
in “Game of the week”.

Nancy and BCM Gravelines remain tied atop the French League table with
8-1 records after respective wins on Saturday. Nancy edged Le Havre

December 2, 2011 - Zalgiris brings back Butkevicius Zalgiris
Kaunas announced on Friday the comeback of forward Povilas Butkevicius
for the remainder of the season. Butkevicius (2.03 meters, 24 years
old) arrives from Rudupis of Lithuania. In the Eurocup, Butkevicius
averaged 7.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in over 18 minutes per game during
the regular season.
December 2, 2011 - Krka switches coaches, inks guard In
a surprise move announced Friday, KRKA Novo Mesto appointed assistsnt
Aleksandar Sekulic head coach of the team, as Nenad Trajkovic stepped
down. Trajkovic arrived this summer to the KRKA bench and led the team
to a current 2-1 record in Group F, good enough for a temporary second
place in the standings.

December 2, 2011 - Unicaja swingman Darden out 2-3 months Unicaja
with be without swingman Tremmell Darden for some time after the player
suffered a broken finger during Wednesday’s Turkish Airlines Euroleague
game against Zalgiris in Kaunas, Lithuania. Darden, who has averaged
8.6 points and 3.7 rebounds in this, his debut Euroleague season,
