UNICS Kazan named Evgeny Pashutin as its new head coach on Friday. Pashutin agreed to a two-year deal with Kazan, shortly after he left CSKA Moscow. Pashutin, 41, spent just one season as the CSKA head coach, during which he guided the team to the Russian League and Cup double as well as the Euroleague Final Four.

Russian champs CSKA Moscow signed coaching great Dusko Vujosevic to a three-year deal, the club announced Friday. He coached the Serbian powerhouse from 2001 with no interruption, leading it to nine consecutive national championships, four cups and the last four Adriatic League titles, becoming the most successful coach in that club's illustrious history.

CSKA Moscow is once again the Russian League champion! CSKA lifted its eighth consecutive Russian League trophy by sweeping its best-of-five title series against BC Khimki Moscow region. It is its 17th crown since the Russian League was created in 1992 and its 41th counting Soviet Union titles.

June 7, 2010 - Pini Gershon is no longer Maccabi Tel Aviv coach, will probably become the General Manager
After another meeting with the club's President Shimon Mizrahi it now became official. Pini Gershon will not be Maccabi's coach next season. By his contract Gershon was supposed to continue for two more seasons but after losing the championship in the final game against Galil-Gilboa (90-77) it was decided.

June 7, 2010 - Wisniewski no longer with Maccabi
Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv has decided not to exercise their option to retain Andrew Wisniewski next season. The club thanked their player for his service, saying he was a fighter who was admired by his teammates.

June 7, 2010 - Panathinaikos claim 8th straight Greek league title
In spite of disappointing season in Europe, Panathinaikos finished the season with at least one title. The Greens defeated arch rivals Olympiacos 76-69 in game four of Greek league finals and secured 8th straight league title.

June 7, 2010 - Sarunas Sakalauskas will be the new coach of Zalgiris
Zalgiris are not looking to sign a coach from outside the club. Sarunas Sakalauskas who is currently employed at the club as Director of Sports will become the new head coach. 48-year-old coach previously coached Eisbaren Bremerhaven through 2001-2009.

June 7, 2010 - Olympiacos want Jonas Valanciunas
Lithuanian prodigy Jonas Valanciunas is attracting the interest of Olympiacos, according to lrytas.lt. One of the hottest prospects in Europe made his LKL debut this year with Perlas and instantly became one of the best centers in the league. He was signed by Lietuvos Rytas in the mid-season but soon could make yet another big step in his career.

June 7, 2010 - Efes Pilsen in talks with Rimas Kurtinaitis
Turkish giants Efes Pilsen continue search for a new coach. Rimas Kurtinaitis is another name on the list. Lrytas.lt reports that it is very likely that Kurtinaitis is going to work in Istanbul next season.

June 7, 2010 - Greek League finals, Game 4: June 6, 2010
Panathinaikos won its eighth straight Greek League championship on Sunday after escaping the Peace and Friendship Stadium with a 69-76 victory over Olympiacos to win the best-of-five Greek League finals 3-1. The title is Panathinaikos’s 31st and its 12th in the last 13 seasons.

June 6, 2010 - Czech League finals, Game 5: June 5, 2010
CEZ Basketball Nymburk bested BK Prostejov 75-67 on Saturday to win the club’s seventh straight Czech League championship. Petr Benda scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a dominant performance as Nymburk won Game 5 and took the series 4-1.

June 6, 2010 - Croatian League finals, Game 3: June 5, 2010
Cibona Zagreb remained alive in the Croatian League finals on Saturday by beating KK Zadar 87-81 in Game 3 of the best-of-five series. Jamont Gordon scored 21 points and dished 7 assists to lead Cibona, which shot 17 for 29 (58.6%) from downtown for the game.

June 5, 2010 - Donatas Motiejunas doubtful for NBA Draft
One of the most promising centers in Europe will probably choose to pull out of NBA Draft 2010. 19-year-old Donatas Motiejunas was predicted to be drafted first among all European players this year. Even though he was widely considered as a Top 15 draft, it seems that Lithuanian prodigy now prefers to try his luck next year.

June 5, 2010 - Legendary basketball coach Wooden dies
He was known as the Wizard of Westwood, the architect of a dynasty at UCLA that will never be equaled. But John Wooden leaves behind a legacy much larger than victories on a basketball court. Wooden died Friday of natural causes at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He was 99. His 100th birthday would have been October 14.

June 4, 2010 - Spanish League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 4: June 4, 2010
A do-or-die fifth game between Euroleague powers is on tap in the Spanish League semifinals after Real Madrid outgunned visiting Caja Laboral 80-62 to even their series on Friday night. Mid-season acquisition Ante Tomic ruled Game 4 for the hosts from Madrid, scoring 19 points on near-perfect shooting to go with 14 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals.

June 4, 2010 - Rytas completes roster with Jerry Johnson and Cemal Nalga
The season might have ended for Lietuvos Rytas only last week but the team has already completed its roster for the next season. The last two players to join the club are American point guard Jerry Johnson and Turkish center Cemal Nalga.

June 4, 2010 - Russian League Finals, Game 2: June 4, 2010
With stellar defense and offensive contributions from all over the court, CSKA Moscow defeated Khimki Moscow Region 69-54 on Friday to take a 2-0 lead in the Russian League finals. CSKA can clinch the best-of-five series and its eighth consecutive national title when the two teams meet on Khimki's court in Game 3 on Monday.

June 3, 2010 - LKL teams will be able to register 6 foreigners
Today Lithuanian Basketball Federation (LKF) has approved the change of a foreign players limit in Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL). The teams will be allowed to register five foreigners in their LKL roster plus one more foreigner for 50K Litas (around 14,5K Euros).

June 3, 2010 - 22 players in Serbia's perliminary squad
Dusan Ivkovic named twenty two players for the preliminary squad of Serbian national team. Eurobasket 2009 silver medalists will rely mainly on young players again. Serbia will play in Group A against Angola, Argentina, Australia, Germany and Jordan in FIBA World Championship 2010.

June 3, 2010 - Fenerbahce claims Turkish league title
Fenrbahce Ulker won its first Turkish league title in three years after defeating arch rivals Efes Pilsen 71-56 in Game 6 of TBL Finals. Mirsad Turkcan and Roko-Leni Ukic for the top scorers for the winners with 16 and 15 points respectively.

June 3, 2010 - French League playoffs, Semifinals, Game 2: June 1-2, 2010
Both French League semifinals series are knotted at 1-1 as the Game 1 losers turned the tables in Game 2. Cholet Basket dominated the fourth quarter for a come-from-behind 73-83 victory at Gravelines-Dunkerque led by Sammy Mejia and Fabien Causeur’s three-point shooting.

June 3, 2010 - Russian League Finals, Game 1: June 3, 2010
CSKA struck first in the best-of-five Russian League finals by thrashing BC Khimki Moscow Region 89-58 at home in Game 1 on Thursday. CSKA took a 1-0 lead in the playoff series and hosts Game 2 tomorrow, with the chance to get closer to its eighth consecutive Russian League title.

June 3, 2010 - LIETUVOS RYTAS adds Siksnius, four others
The busiest team at the start of the summer signing market continues to be Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius. The freshly crowned Lithuanian champion announced the addition of five players for the upcoming season via its web site. The most recognizable name among the bunch is shooting guard Arvydas Siksnius (196, 22), who arrives from BC Siauliai. Siksnius led Siauliai in the Eurocup last season with 17 points on 48.6% three-point shooting plus 2.5 assists over six games.

June 2, 2010 - Turkish League finals, Game 6: June 2, 2010
Fenerbahce Ulker routed outgoing champion Efes Pilsen 76-51 on Wednesday at Abdi Ipekci Sports Hall to regain the Turkish League championship. Mirsad Turkcan scored 16 and Roko Ukic added 15 as FB Ulker took the best-of-six series 4-2 for its third league title in four seasons and fourth overall.

June 2, 2010 - Serbian League, second phase, Game 13: June 1, 2010
Partizan Belgrade wrapped up the top spot in the Serbian League with a game to go by beating 78-84 Tuesday to improve to 12-1. Branislav Djekic scored 15 points ad grabbed 7 rebounds and Aleksandar Rasic added 14 for the Euroleague Final Four side.

June 2, 2010 - Croatian League finals, Game 2: June 1, 2010
KK Zadar moved within one win of regaining the Croatian League championship after topping defending champ Cibona 77-72 in Game 2 of the best-of-five finals series on Tuesday. The series moves back to Zagreb for Game 3 on Saturday. Rok Stipcevic shined with 7 points in an 11-2 run in the final three minutes that lifted Zadar to victory.

June 2, 2010 - 10th anniversary open letter from Euroleague Basketball CEO
A decade ago this week, on May 29, 2000, Euroleague Basketball was born. It was a basketball competition - nothing new, apparently. EuroBasket 2009 MVP Pau Gasol of Spain has decided to take this summer off and rest instead of putting on the national team shirt at the FIBA World Championship. Gasol, who is about to begin his third straight NBA Finals campaign with the Los Angeles Lakers when they take on the Boston Celtics, had indicated several months ago that it would be difficult to play for Spain this summer.

June 1, 2010 - Lietuvos Rytas unveil new logo
Lietuvos Rytas is making lots of changes ahead of the new season. Rimas Kurtinaitis was already replaced by Drazen Anzulovic as a head coach. Five players (Stepas Babrauskas, Justas Sinica, Vidas Ginevicius, Donatas Zavackas and Aron Baynes) will leave the team and will be replaced by the new ones.

June 1, 2010 - David Logan and Qyntel Woods leave Prokom for Spain

Polish champions Asseco Prokom will have to find replacements for two key players. According to lrytas.lt, David Logan and Qyntel Woods have already agreed contracts with the Spanish clubs - Caja Laboral and Real Madrid respectively.
