CSKA Moscow moved within one win of a trip to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four with a 79-60 victory over Gescrap BB Friday in the Russian capital to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-five playoffs series. The Russian champs can wrap up the series and with it a ticket to Istanbul with a win next week when the series resumes in Bilbao, Spain.

Barcelona held off Unics Kazan down the stretch to win 66-63 and take a 2-0 lead in their Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs series. The teams head to Russia next week and Barca can clinch a spot in the 2012 Final Four with a win.

At front of 3.500 supporters, Crvena Zvezda Diva wins against Cibona in one not so interesting game, actually game that I really didn’t like for many reasons. Confused plays, turnovers, nervous, blaming referees for own mistakes. I expected much more from this game, especially from Cibona. They played excellent game few days ago, and lost against Cedevita after two overtimes.

Tre Simmons scored 24 points and Lamayne Wilson 22 to pace the winners, who were outscored in both the first and third quarters, but Simmons and Wilson keyed an 11-2 charge midway through the fourth quarter that made the difference.

Partizan mt:s denied Buducnost Voli the last remaining ticket to the Adriatic League Final Four – at least temporarily – with a 67-58 victory on Wednesday in the Serbian capital. However Partizan remained in third place with a 17-6 record after Cedevita downed Cibona in the Zagreb derby after two overtimes to remain one win ahead of the Serbian champs.

Montepaschi Siena reeled off 15 unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 45-62 lead en route to a 65-77 road victory over Cimberio Varese that kept the defending champs in first place with a three-game cushion. Bo McCalebb and David Andersen, who together had 10 points during that run, led the way with 18 and 17 points, respectively, as Montepaschi improved to 17-6.

March 7, 2012 - Cedevita topped Cibona in amazing game after two overtimes
What a fantastic game in Zagreb, in Basketball Center Drazen Petrovic as Cedevita beat Cibona with 106:102 after two overtimes in Game 23 of ABA Adriatic league. Maybe one of the best games if not in whole ABA Adriatic league season, than the best one in last several weeks for sure.

With 24 turnovers, Siroki couldn’t expect to win very good team as Union Olimpija was in this game today. Well controlled rhythm, gave another one win to Union Olimpija.

March 6, 2012 - Euroleague Commercial Assets Board meets, looks to future
Members of the Euroleague Commercial Assets Board met in Barcelona, Spain on Monday to discuss to new projects for future Turkish Airlines Euroleague and Eurocup seasons. Board members were presented with the 2012-13 calendar already approved in October 2011, as well as various proposals for modifications of the Euroleague competition bylaws.

In a battle between Turkish Airlines Euroleague Quarterfinalists, FC Barcelona beat Gescrap BB on the road 65-72 to keep its hold on to first place in the Spanish League with a 19-3 record, while Real Madrid outdueled Blusens Monbus 69-83 to remain second at 18-4.

March 4, 2012 - Greek League, Regular Season, Game 21
Olympiacos remains atop the Greek League with a 19-1 record after downing Drama 55-73 on the road, behind 13 points from Marko Keselj, while Panathinaikos improved to 18-2 after a comfortable win, 85-65, over PAOK with Kostas Kaimakoglou netting 18 points.

March 4, 2012 - Adriatic League, Regular Season, Game 22
Partizan mt:s joined Maccabi Electra and Cedevita Zagreb as the first three teams to qualify for the Adriatic League Final Four with a 66-78 victory over Hemofarm Stada on Friday night. Partizan outscored Hemofarm in all four quarters and held the home team to just 9 third-quarter points in improving to 16-6.

March 3, 2012 - Harris, Jazz snap Heat’s 9-game win streak
LeBron James had the ball and a chance to finish a furious rally that would extend Miami’s winning streak. Instead, he left it up to Udonis Haslem. Whenever I watch Maccabi Electra in ABA Adriatic league, it seems to me that they play as much as it is necessary. Without waste of energy. Maccabi Electra won with 83:77. This game was great, first half with lot of ups and downs on both sides. Maccabi Electra had great run of 19:1, but later Cedevita had run of 18:5.

March 3, 2012 - Ivan Maras signed for Dexia Mons
As we wrote yesterday, Partizan mt:s topped Hemofarm 87:66 in Game 22 of ABA Adriatic league Game 22. Just day after that we got information that Ivan Maras will leave Hemofarm. As it is also confirmed from Maras’s agent Miodrag Raznatovic, that Ivan Maras will continue his career in Belgium, with Dexia Mons.

March 2, 2012 - Partizan mt:s topped Hemofarm in Game 22 of ABA Adriatic league
Even I predicted today that this should be easy game and win for Partizan mt:s, it wasn’t easy at all, at least in first 20 minutes. Partizan mt:s won 66:87 (20:25, 21:22, 9:19, 16:21).

Fifty years ago, at March 2, 1962, one of the best NBA players ever, Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in Game when Philadelphia Warriors hosted the New York Knicks. Wilt Chamberlain in this game had 36/63 from the field and pretty high percentage for free-throws 28/32, not typical for this player since he was known as not so good from free-throw line.

First, ABA Adriatic league fined Cibona with 12.000 EUR due to bad organisation of game and attack on referee in halftime and threats to referees after the game.
