November 30, 2011 - Real Madrid brings in Kyle Singler
Seizing an opportunity to add new talent, Real Madrid on Wednesday announced the signing of rookie forward Kyle Singler for the rest of the season. Singler (2.03 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Alicante of the Spanish League. He played nine Spanish League games with Alicante, averaging 15 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals.

November 30, 2011 - Five teams target Top 16 berths in Week 7!
The 2011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season enters decisive Week 7, in which as many as five teams could join already-qualified and still-undefeated FC Barcelona Regal and CSKA Moscow in the Top 16. Other teams have the chance to get much closer to the next round, while leaving their opponents closer to elimination.

November 30, 2011 - Deron Williams jersey retired
Former Besiktas point guard Deron Williams will have his number eight jersey retired as he returns to the New Jersey Nets. Williams was one of the first NBA players to sign in Europe due to the lockout which has seemingly now been lifted. He joined the Turkish side in July.

November 30, 2011 - Week 3 MVP: Nik Caner-Medley, Valencia Basket
The third week of games in the Eurocup regular season saw as many as 10 road wins in 16 games, proving that there are no clear favorites regardless where the games are played. One of the road winners was Valencia Basket as forward Nik Caner-Medley led the performance of the team at Lukoil Academic for the win and an index rating performance of 29, that earned him the weekly MVP honors among those players in winning teams.

November 29, 2011 - Montepaschi's Kaukenas out indefinitely
In a tremendous blow to a perennial Turkish Airlines Euroleague contender, Montepaschi Siena swingman Rimantas Kaukenas will be out indefinitely due to a knee injury that requires surgery, the club confirmed Tuesday. Kaukenas was injured in an Italian League game over the weekend against Vanoli Braga Cremona.

The 2011-12 Eurocup regular season reaches its halfway mark this week and incredibly enough, all eight groups feature the same standings - one defeated team, one winless squad and two teams tied for second place at 1-1. CSKA Moscow outlasted 78-67 Unics Kazan in an all-Euroleague clash in the Russian League to remain undefeated with a 4-0 record. Milos Teodosic led the winner with 19 points and 6 assists, Andrey Vorontsevich added 15 points and 5 rebounds while Ramunas Siskauskas had 11.

November 28, 2011 - Adriatic League, Regular Season, Game 9
Euroleague powerhouse Maccabi Electra maintained control of first place in the Adriatic League after outgunning Cedevita 96-89 at home on Saturday night to remain unbeaten at 8-0. Maccabi dominated the second quarter 33-18 for a 54-44 halftime lead that Cedevita would cut to 74-72, but never overcame.

November 27, 2011 - Bayern Munich adds big man Homan
Days after its first Eurocup defeat, F.C. Bayern Munich strengthened its frontcourt by signing big man Jared Homan for the rest of the season. Homan (2.06 meters, 28 years old) returns to the Eurocup four years after having debuted in it with Slask Wroclaw of Poland, for whom he averaged 11 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks over 12 games.

November 27, 2011 - Greek League, Regular Season, Game 6
One of the biggest surprises in the history of the Greek League took place Sunday as defending Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Panathinaikos lost to Kavala 79-70. The local team beat the Greens for the first team after six defeats in six league games behind 22 points from Michael Taylor.

Spirou Charleroi reamins atop the Belgian League table with a 7-1 reocrd by downing Optima Gent 67-75 on the road on Saturday. Gent had a strong start and got an early 15-4 lead. Spirou got within 27-24 but then Gent prolonged its margin to 45-36 at halftime.

November 27, 2011 - Vrankovic steps down as Cibona coach
Josip Vrankovic stepped down as Cibona Zagreb head coach on Friday and the club is looking for a replacement. Assistant Teo Cizmic also resigned. In the meantime, Danijel Lutz will coach the team on an interim basis.

Caja Laboral big man Milko Bjelica will be sidelined for a month after spraining the medial collateral ligament of his right knee during Thursday’s Turkish Airlines Euroleague victory over Fenerbahce Ulker. Bjelica, 27, had one of his best games of the season against FB Ulker with 16 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.

F.C. Barcelona Regal superstar Juan Carlos Navarro on Thursday night became the all-time leading scorer since the Euroleague was founded in 2000! Navarro’s left-handed layup off a Chuck Eidson steal at 5:30 of the third quarter of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague game against Union Olimpija at Palau Blaugrana in Barcelona gave him the record of 2,716 career points, previously held by recently-retired Marcus Brown.

Euroleague Basketball has announced that the 2011-12 Eurocup season’s crowning event, the Eurocup Finals, will take place in Russia for the first time ever, as Khimki will host the event on April 14 and 15, 2012. The newest Eurocup champion will be crowned at the 5,000-seat Basketball Center of Moscow Region, the homecourt of Eurocup powerhouse BC Khimki.

Cedevita Zagreb signed veteran center Dalibor Bagaric for the rest of the season. Bagaric (2.15 meters, 31 years old) arrives to Cedevita to provide more experience and power in the paint. He comes from the Spanish League, where he was playing for Blancos de Rueda Valaldolid.

Spanish club Gescrap Bizkaia announced on Monday evening the temporary addition, for 90 days, of veteran forward Damir Krupalija (2.05 meters, 32 years old). Anadolu Efes defeated Galatasaray Medical Park 61-69 in a top-of-the-table clash between Turkish Airlines Euroleague sides in the Turkish League at Abdi Ipekci on Sunday. With the win, Efes joins Besiktas Milangaz as the lone undefeated teams through five games, while Galatasaray slips into a third place tie with Turk Telekom, which improved to 4-1 by hammering defending champion Fenerbahce Ulker 64-83.

November 12, 2011 - Paok's Andriuskevicius, out one month
PAOK big man Martynas Andriuskevicius was diagnosed with an hernia on Friday and he will be sidelined from action for one month, therefore missing the bulk of the Eurocup regular season. The Lithuanian center is currently undergoing treatment.

November 11, 2011 - Valencia forward Claver out 6 weeks
Valencia Basket's star forward and former Eurocup Rising Star award winner Victor Claver will miss the start if the Eurocup season after suffering a leg injury. Claver is expected to be sidelined for six weeks after breaking a bone in his left foot at practice on Wednesday.

November 11, 2011 - Greens' Tsartsaris to miss one month
Panathinaikos forward Kostas Tsartsaris will miss action for one month, due to the injury he suffered on Thursday in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague overtime loss of his team to CSKA Moscow. Tsartsaris got injured on the leg after he played only 48 seconds in the game and was diagnosed with a left knee fracture, which will keep him sidelined until the middle of December.

Spartak St. Petersburg has made sure to keep its young star guard around for years to come by signing Patrick Beverley to a contract extension. The new deal keeps Beverley with the team through 2014 and includes an option for the 2014-15 season.

Aris BSA 2003 added depth on its frontline with the signing of Giorgos Bogris, who arrives from Panathinaikos. Alonzo Gee has walked out of Asseco Prokom via text message, by reportedly telling coach Tomas Pacesas he has headed back to America. Gee left Asseco Prokom due to personal problems, sources in the Polish media are saying he was home sick.

Le Mans has come to terms with big man Travon Bryant as an injury replacement for center Alain Koffi, the club announced Tuesday. The deal is subject to approval of French League management. KK Zagreb announced Monday that it had released reserve point guard Diante Garrett, effective immediately. Garrett, 23, made his professional basketball debut with the Croatian champs. He arrived in Zagreb this summer after four years of college basketball at Iowa State University.
