March 9, 2020 - 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 MVP: Devin Williams, Tofas Bursa
The
7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 served as uncharted waters for both Tofas Bursa
and its center Devin Williams and thanks to the stellar performances by
the latter, the team passed through successfully to continue its
challenge for EuroCup glory. Williams led his team in scoring in the
Top 16 with 15.3 points per game, led the entire EuroCup with 7.8
rebounds and ranked this with an average performance index rating of
20.8. Even more important than those numbers was his team's 4-2 record,
which booked Tofas a quarterfinals date with Promitheas Patras. For his
standout play in leading Tofas to the next phase, Euroleague Basketball
has chosen Williams as the 7DAYS EuroCup Top 16 MVP. Read more here.
March 6, 2020 - Top 16 Round 6 MVP, Devin Williams of Tofas Bursa
Devin
Williams of Tofas Bursa turned in another monster performance in his
team's Top 16 finale against MoraBanc Andorra to clinch MVP honors for
Round 6 of the Top 16. The big man amassed 22 points on 8-of-10
two-point shooting plus 6-of-7 from the foul line. He added 6 rebounds
and 3 steals in compiling a performance index rating of 32, which was
the best of the round. He narrowly edged Promitheas Patras’s Langston
Hall for that distinction after the latter went for 20 points and 8
assists in a playoff-clinching victory at EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Hall
finished with a personal best PIR of 31. The third-highest PIR for
Round 6 was 29, which came from Umana Reyer Venice’s Andrea Di Nicolao.
The veteran guard went for 16 points and 9 assists in the clutch
victory at Germani Brescia Leonessa. Read more here.
March 2, 2020 - Round 6
The final round of the Top 16 will give answers to a
series of questions. There are still four quarterfinals tickets waiting
to be booked and first place is still open in two of the four groups.
Simultaneously, there is also a battle for the best Top 16 record which
would give one team the chance to have home-court advantage in each
elimination round it plays. Read more here.

At
age 35, one of the top performers historically in the 7DAYS EuroCup,
center Loukas Mavrokefalidis, re-emerged at the perfect moment to lift
Promitheas Patras to a crucial road win and earn the Top 16 Round 4 MVP
honor in the process. Mavrokefalidis poured in 28 points and ripped 13
rebounds as Promitheas blasted host Umana Reyer Venice 52-70 on
Tuesday. He hit 6 of 11 two-pointers, 3 of 7 triples and 7 of 8 free
throws while also drawing 9 fouls to amass a performance index rating
of 37. His 6 offensive and 13 total rebounds matched his career highs,
but not his points or PIR, which were merely his fourth-highest totals
in 72 EuroCup games over seven seasons with six teams. In fact,
Mavrokefalidis shares the competition record with a 55 PIR he recorded
on October 14, 2015, while playing for AEK Athens. After him this week,
two players tied with PIRs of 30 each: Devin Williams of Tofas Bursa
and Julian Gamble of Segafredo Virtus Bologna. Read more here.

steps toward the Top 16. Round 4 concludes on Wednesday with six more
games. No team can advance yet, but Dolomiti Energia Trento and
MoraBanc Andorra both face elimination.

intact by carrying his team past previously unbeaten Tofas Bursa to an
88-84 come-from-behind victory and, in the process, earning MVP of the
Round honors for Top 16 Round 3. Prepelic's career-high 45 performance
index rating was the 7DAYS EuroCup's best since January 2017. Prepelic
also set a club record and a career high by netting 37 points, making 5

drawn in his performance, which lifted Joventut's perfect home record
to 7-0. In the same game, Tofas veteran swingman Sammy Mejia posted a

already. Eight games are evenly split between Tuesday and Wednesday for

weight than ever before in the race to reach the quarterfinals. Teams
that improve to 2-0 will in the driver's seat, while those that fall to
0-2 will be behind the eight-ball. Top 16 Round 2 will feature three
games on Tuesday and five more on Wednesday.
