November 30, 2015 - MVP for November: Nicolo Melli, Brose Baskets Bamberg
It
is safe to assume that when November started, few if any Turkish
Airlines Euroleague observers had checked off Brose Baskets Bamberg as
a sure Top 16 team, let alone an early qualifier. As November ends,
however, Bamberg has punched its ticket to the next phase with four
straight victories that featured extraordinarily diverse performances
by Nicolo Melli, Euroleague Basketball's selection for MVP of the
Month. Although he had played 85 Euroleague games in five seasons
before November, the 24-year-old power forward packed no fewer than
seven personal career highs into Bamberg's perfect month. In November's
first game, Melli became just the fourth player 2.05 or taller this
century to dish 10 assists. In another, his 37 index rating was this
season's second-best and his 26 points tied for fourth-best. Read more here.
November 28, 2015 - Regular Season, Round 7 MVP: Jamel McLean, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan
When
his team badly needed a victory to stay alive in the race to reach the
Top 16, Jamel McLean produced a career-best night in leading EA7
Emporio Armani Milan to an 88-84 victory over Anadolu Efes Istanbul on

Airlines Euroleague Regular Season. McLean was all over the floor as he
amassed a career-high 26 points, shooting a near-perfect 9 of 10 for
two-pointers and going 8-for-11 from the free throw line. He also added

Felipe
Reyes may not have made the headlines after Real Madrid's remarkable
come-from-behind 101-99 victory over FC Bayern Munich on Thursday
night, but without his hard work in the trenches throughout the game,
Los Blancos would not have had the chance to win in the closing
seconds. Reyes not only starred with a double-double, but he also
captured the title of MVP for Round 4 of the Turkish Airlines
Euroleague Regular Season. Reyes totaled 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2
assists, 1 steal and 1 block in compiling a performance index rating of

November 2, 2015 - MVP for October: Malcolm Delaney, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar
By
historic measures, this season is already among the most difficult this
century in which to stay undefeated in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.
Just four teams made it through two games unbeaten - a first - and only
three have survived to reach 3-0 records. One player who had everything
to do with his team's perfect October, Malcolm Delaney of Lokomotiv
Kuban Krasnodar, is Euroleague Basketball's choice for the season's
first MVP of the Month award. Lokomotiv is the only undefeated teams to
have won twice on the road. In the season-opener against danger
Panathinaikos Athens, Delaney played the most minutes as Lokomotiv won
by double digits at home. In tense finishes the next two weeks, at
Zalgiris Kaunas and at Stelmet Zielona Gora, Delaney was the top scorer
and performer for Lokomotiv against hard-charging home teams;
nonetheless, both wins went back to Krasnodar, Russia. Read more here.

Laboral
Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz exploded for the second-most in club history for
a Turkish Airlines Euroleague road game in its blowout 71-107 victory
at Limoges CSP on Thursday. The architect of the attack, Darius Adams,

finished the week as the MVP for Regular Season Round 3. Adams racked
up 18 points, plus career highs of 9 assists and 3 steals, to lead the
charge for Laboral Kutxa. He made 5 of 8 two-point shots, 2 of 4 threes
and sank both of his free throw attempts in compiling a performance
index rating of 29, which was the most among all players among the 12
Round 3 games. Adams follows teammate Ioannis Bourousis as weekly MVP,
which marks the first time since the 2007-08 season that a team enjoyed
back-to-back MVP efforts from different players in the regular season;
then it was Efes Pilsen players Scoonie Penn and Loren Woods who
achieved the same feat. Read more here.

Group D analysis
Group D poses a wonderful mix of tradition and
youth. CSKA Moscow, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Unicaja Malaga are among
the long-tenured Euroleague regulars, while Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul
embarks on its maiden Euroleague voyage, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna
Sassari plays its second campaign and Brose Baskets Bamberg returns
after a season away.
The big three meet again
CSKA Moscow, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Unicaja Malaga have all played in
each of the previous 14 Turkish Airlines Euroleague seasons. Over the
past decade, only once has one of these clubs – CSKA in the 2010-11
season – missed the Top 16. It is pretty easy for the clubs to make
travel plans, as there have been 54 head-to-head Euroleague matchups
between these three teams this century, and they were in the same
regular season group last season, too. Read more here.
Group C analysis
Three former Euroleague champions, FC Barcelona
Lassa, Panathinaikos Athens and Zalgiris Kaunas, go against one of the
fastest-rising teams in Europe, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, and two
national champs, Stelmet Zielona Gora and Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir.
Euroleague superstars all over
You will find some of the most experienced players in the competition
in Group C, stars who have been in the competition for many years. Juan
Carlos Navarro of FC Barcelona Lassa is the Euroleague's all-time
leading scorer (3,674) and Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos Athens
leads the all-time charts in assists (1,146), steals (414) and
performance index ranking (3,538). Read more here.
Group B analysis
With a fine mix of veteran leaders, young
stars-in-the-making and new faces ready to make names for themselves,
Group B offers an unpredictable battle on the road to the Top 16.
OLD PROS
Some of the classic players in Euroleague's modern history will start
the 2015-16 season in Group B. Olympiacos Piraeus relies on its
leaders, three-time Final Four MVP Vassilis Spanoulis and two-time
Euroleague champion Georgios Printezis, to make the difference from
their teams yet again. Anadolu Efes Istanbul also has plenty of
experienced players, especially in its frontcourt, with two-time
Defensive Player of the Year Bryant Dunston, two-time All-Euroleague
center Nenad Krstic and recent competition champ Alex Tyus. Read more here.
Group A analysis
The reigning champions, another Final Four team and
the Eurocup winner last season make Group A a unique collection of
ambitious clubs with stable benches that boast some of the most
successful coaches in the sport of basketball.
Eurocup and Euroleague winner
For the first time in nine years, the reigning Euroleague and Eurocup
champions are part of the same regular season group. And for the first
time ever, they meet in opening week. Real Madrid is the reigning
Euroleague champion and hopes to become only the third club in the past
24 years to defend its title, even though the past two winners –
Olympiacos Piraeus in 2013, and Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014 – failed to
get past the playoffs the next year. Read more here.
