On April 12-15, the NBA play-in tournament will take place, followed by
the playoffs, which begin on April 16. With the addition of the play-in
tournament, 20 teams are now eligible to compete in the playoffs.
How many NBA playoff
teams are there?
The playoffs are reached
by 16 of the 20 clubs. Twelve of the sixteen clubs are verified ahead
of the play-in event, and they are ranked 1-6 in each conference based
on record. The head-to-head record is necessary to break ties first,
followed by the division winner's form to break ties second. There is
some benefit in becoming a division champion, even if it doesn't
guarantee a postseason spot. The No. 1 seed faces the No. 8 seed, while
the Nos. 2 and 3 face the 7 and 6, respectively. The No. 4 seed faces
the No. 5 seed. The play-in tournament determines who gets to be the
No. 7 and 8 seeds.
In the second round, the winner of the 1-8 series faces the victor of
the 4-5 series. On the other hand, the winner of the 2-7 series faces
the victor of the 3-6 series. The victors of the second round advance
to the conference finals, where they will face off in the 2022 NBA
Finals, beginning on June 2.

Some pointers before
betting
It's no secret that the Phoenix Suns had a stellar
regular season, finishing eight games ahead of the next closest
team. But can Devin Booker and Chris Paul lead their team to another
NBA championship? With the likes of Luka Doncic and the dangerous
Dallas Mavericks as well as Nikola Jokic, who is the current MVP
front-runner, and the Denver Nuggets, as well as Ja Morant, the
youthful but fearless Memphis Grizzlies, they'll have their work cut
out for them in the Western Conference.
And the Golden State Warriors are returning to the playoffs for the
first time since the 2019 Finals.
Just ten games are separating the top seeds in the Eastern Conference
from the worst seeds. Since the NBA-ABA merger in 1976-77, it's the
closest any league has been since ESPN Stats & Information study.
In the second half, there were many contenders: Giannis Antetokounmpo's
reigning champion Milwaukee Bucks, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and the
resurgent Boston Celtics, James Harden and the revitalized Philadelphia
76ers.
And don't forget about the Brooklyn Nets, who are still alive in the
play-in round despite a season marred by injuries and controversy.
It'll be interesting to see what happens if the Nets, Kevin Durant, and
Kyrie Irving make it to round one of the playoffs.
