April 20, 2011 - Union Olimpija better in Slovenian semi-final
|
|
|
With
Krka being much more successful in Slovenian national championship in
the last couple of weeks and Union Olimpija struggling with problems it
was impossible to predict the winner of the second semi-final but
Olimpija didn't allow any surprise. Motivation was high and so was
Olimpija's play with Sašo Ožbolt making some important shots for a
comfortable lead. Krka was soon in a position to catch the result but
every time, when it came closer, Olimpija pulled away. »We knew it will
not be easy but we regret the chance we miss, because we were really in
a good moment lately,« said Smiljan Pavič of Krka.

April 17, 2011 - Partizan already in Ljubljana
|
|
|
The
four times NLB champion Partizan already arrived in Ljubljana, Slovenia
on Sunday afternoon and had the first practice in the evening. The
Serbian team arrived with a slightly different line-up compared to the
one, with which it finished the regular part of the NLB League season.
In the meantime Slovenian guard Jaka Klobučar was loaned to Union
Olimpija without the right to play at the Final Four Tournament. He was
forced to move to Ljubljana since no more than four foreign players can
play the Serbian League and Curtis Louis Jerrells, the leading scorer
Nathan Jawai, the leading rebounder James Clough Gist and Jan Vesely
were more effective during the season. Partizan is currently the
leading team in the Serbian League for the champion and defeated
Hemofarm Stada on Tuesday, April 12th 90:76.
