September 28, 2011 - The regional league will start the season as ABA League
The
regional basketball league, which grew into one of the most successful
basketball organizations under the sponsorship of Nova ljubljanska
banka (NLB), will begin the 2011/12 season with the new name ABA
League. The new logo is already unveiled too.
July 9, 2011 - Maccabi will open the season
With their thoughts well into the 2011/12 season NLB
League club representatives eagerly awaited the draw, which followed
the regular annual General Assembly held in Ljubljana, Slovenia on
Saturday.
It was decided that Maccabi, which returned to the NLB League for the
first time since 2002/03 season on a wild-card invitation, will have a
slightly different rhythm than the others throughout the season and
will play few games in a row. It will be the Israelian champ, which
will inaugurate the season with the game against Krka on October 1st
while three days later the Israelians will also meet Zlatorog within
the 2nd round schedule and Cibona on October 6th within the 3rd round
schedule. Other teams will start their season on October 8th.
July 8, 2011 - NLB League first round games known on Saturday
The new NLB League season will start on October 8th
and on Saturday it will be announced which teams will have the chance
to inaugurate the 11th season by playing against each other in the
first round. The draw will be held during the regular General
Assembley, held in Ljubljana, and will decided the schedule for all 14
teams, which will play in the 2011/12 season. The partisipants,
confirmed by NLB League are: Union Olimpija, Helios, Zlatorog, Krka
(all Slovenia), Cibona, Cedevita, Zagreb CO (all Croatia), Široki
(BiH), Partizan, FMP, Hemofarm, Radnički (all Serbia), Budućnost
(Montenegro) and Maccabi (Israel).
